Spongemom - cooling

It was moved to the Pit because it dealt with moderator actions (which is what the Pit is for). It was locked because Spongemom was on suspension, so couldn’t participate. It was unlocked after she had her posting priviledges restored. At least that’s how I figured it.

Because that is exactly how it happened.

But you guys aren’t being creative enough. There aren’t any hidden motives and dubious morals in your story.

I have nothing valid to contribute.

Big news there…

I just wanted to be 284 for some reason.

Welcome back Spongemom!

I’m hoping the thread goes on long enough for me to be 420.

Mynn, it doesn’t make your posts any more readable for you to respond to people without quoting them. I’m not gonna keep scrolling up to see exactly what John Carter or xbuckeye said, so all I have is your response, which as far as I can tell, could apply to anything.

Lemme rephrase that. What I mean is, the people you’re responding to have made more than one post, each one complex (and comprehensible). Then you say, “uglybeech, I’m working on it.” Well, working on what? Does she even know exactly which statement of hers you’re responding to? 'Cause I sure don’t. This is not a chat room, yanno.

Bravo. I bow to you, sir.

In regards to your edited version: it sounds like a different interpretation of where things belong than I or others may have.

Slacker - See JeffB’s post.

Richilam - try reading the long version? Or not reading at all?

Maybe I need a new sig to follow this around until it’s finally archived into oblivion:

"I am irritated by my own writing. I am like a violinist whose ear is true, but whose fingers refuse to reproduce precisely the sound he hears within. " -Gustave Flaubert

Seems to sum things up well.

Other than that, sounds like everyone’s happy with who they want to piss on. Enjoy the rest o’da pit/SDMB.

Fucking stupid ass bastard.

It’s general netiquette to include a quote from the person you’re responding to, so that they and others can follow the conversation and make sure the two of you are not talking past each other. Omitting quotes sets up a lot of “That’s not what I said” and “Oops, I meant Poster X, not Poster Y.”

And I have stopped reading your posts after that last one; I’m only responding now because my name jumped out at me. My point is, it may well be that everybody will stop reading your posts soon. So I recommend that you either quote the people you’re responding to (and strive to be more coherent generally), or hang it up.

What’s this all about?

The Spanish Inquisition.

Alfie.

I wasn’t expecting the Spanish Inquisition.

Am I first? Am I? Am I?

I’m with you. It is possible to quote more than one person in a post, although it’s not autmatic process like the quote button. Maybe that’s what’s throwing Mynn. Let me see if I can clear this up…

Before: Slacker - See JeffB’s post.

After:

See JeffB’s post.

Before: Richilam - try reading the long version? Or not reading at all?

After:

try reading the long version? Or not reading at all?

Now doesn’t that make more sense? Should we even bother to ask Mynn to make more sense?

You can lead a horse’s ass to logic but you can’t make it think.

Like I said earlier, lay off the crack and I bet your writting will start to improve…

Or, up the dosage quite a bit so that the rambling anal drippings posted take on a life of their own.

In the Autumn of 2003, MPSIMS had several ultra long threads running concurrently. Perusing the current Pit page 1, I see several long threads gone past page 6 to “… last page.” Has there ever been a time in the Pit with so many at once? I seem to remember some H4E and Joe Cool stuff from a while back, but I think this week has that beat.

Or would that question put this right back in ATMB?

Shit, maybe it would improve my spelling as well…
