I felt the pile-on was deserved due to her refusal to accept any responsibility for what had actually happened to her cats. It does not matter that she was upset or down at the time. She felt the need to open a pit thread devoted to how evil her neighbor’s dog was for eating her cat, but simply could not see how her own actions had led to the unfortunate incident. Most people know that when you start a pit thread you have a 50/50 chance of it biting you in the ass.
I don’t think there’s any need to carry on the discussion from the old thread. That thread got thoroughly thrashed-out, it’s done, and no need to drag it into around from thread to thread.
Besides, that would be a hijack. As it turns out, this thread is a pitting of the Mods – who knew? (Certainly not me, even after reading the OP several times).

To the rest, I think the “Fuck You All” statement was aimed at those who were attacking in a rude, cruel and outragious manner in that thread, at that time. If this is in fact the case, I don’t feel like any recanting is called for as the attacks were excessive and violent, even for the Pit.
However, I think the right thing to do would be to just drop it, let it go and move on.
The Mods are both jackbooted and twee. How they accomplish this is a closely gaurded secret. (It has something to do with hats, clogs, and timeshifting DVRs.)

Yeah, i was unclear and not happy. I posted unclearly and out of haste. I was informed by a non admin-mod that it was moved to the pit and dumped. I was informed by a non admin-mod that it was opened so people could piss all over spongemom again.
As there was no hope of rescue for this to stay a civil discussion, and after speaking directly with Spongemom herself, I went ahead and went off. If I’d wanted to pit them for being drooling monkeys laughing at feces flinging, I would have started my thread in the pit.

There is no conspiracy here on the part of the moderators, nor any desire on their part to see Spongemom get kicked around. If you want to discuss the actions of the posters in the amtrack thread, go right ahead. The mods didn’t do anything wrong.

Actually, a lot of people have gotten off on the wrong foot, learned from their mistakes, even when the learning was painful, even when they’ve caused massive trainwrecks and wound up valuable and well-liked members of this community. Most folks will give you a second chance, if you’re willing to take it. If not, you’re probably as well off without us as we are without you.
