Squirrels are vicious, nasty, aggressive little bastards that menace just about anything that couldn’t casually clobber them.
How is this surprising?
Maybe the fruitbat was unlicensed. 
I might have thought the squirrel may be rabid, but rodents rarely get rabies and Australia is rabies-free.
WTF (What the Fruitbat?)
The fruitbat may have been armed with a banana and the squirrel was merely defending itself.
Simple explanation. It was a Tanzanian squirrel, and likely a Nigerian fruit bat that had ripped it off with the old “help me get my nuts out of the country” scam.
By the was, has anyone seen Anne Coulter since this event? I get a little worried anytime I hear of the death of a fruit bat.
