ST: Discovery. I am not entirely confident in "All access ABC.com

My Facebook feed is telling me I absolutely MUST go to “All access ABC” and check out the official trailer for Star Trek Discovery.

Well, I did it, and all I got for my troubles was buffering!

I mean, I was able to see the trailer on YT, but still… If I sign up for “All Access” and pay their stupid fee, is this the kind of service I can expect?

Jeesh!

Are you sure you are in the right place? Star Trek Discovery will be on CBS All Access.

Yes! Thank you. I meant CBS. (I’m just get’n old and can’t remember stuff. :o)

Have they actually put out a different trailer than the one on YouTube?

Because that’s what I do for any site. Usually trailers are put on YouTube for the widest possible audience.

CBS All Access customer for the last two years. I was just discussing with my wife how badly Star Trek Discovery is going to go for them. Not the show quality itself, but the fact that even without signing up a million new customers, CBS All Access is the worst performing streaming service by far. They are just not ready for this.

Gee, it’s as easy as A-B-C. I mean CBS!!

Heh. My browser has made the “ABC.com” in the thread title to be an active link!

I’m interested in the answer to the OP’s question, too. I love Star Trek (and Star Wars), and I even like both the Prime universe and the Kelvin universe.

I hope that CBS doesn’t screw this up. But I think they might.

Every so often online game providers (either MMO’s or game consoles) get surprised on launch day by the network traffic they experience, and the systems choke. This leads to egg on face, at least in the PR arena.

Are they more likely to get bad press if they overbuild their infrastructure, and no one comes?

I’m pretty sure that the link in the thread title is a result of Viglink behaving badly (i.e., how it normally does). It’s certainly not a vBulletin feature, since an embedded link in a title makes no sense, given that the titles themselves are usually links. As such, there’s nothing I can do to fix it, beyond recommending yet again to the Powers that Be that we remove Viglink.

Thanks, Chronos! However, some of that is over my head. Is viglink a third party app running on the SDMB servers?
