Aes, I am fully functional and so is my AIM, but if you are using some different name I might have ignored it, thinking it was one of my students pestering me. They know they are supposed to email.
My name’s Deimosan now since AOL is run by a bunch of asses that won’t let me have Aesiron since it was created while I had AOL but cancelled it, thus losing my name.
Aes, I hadn’t posted a link here yet, because no one has answered my request to post it yet. UnaBoard and G’Dope were both very helpful, but I guess these guys have had their hands full lately.
I understand, **NCB ** but I doubt very seriously any mod will stumble across this post and even if they do, I doubt I will get in trouble for it. It’s spam, yes, but not an OP so it shouldn’t be a problem
I’m here. I’ve been busy with missed deadlines at work (coming along now) and family crises (just checking why the 2yr old is mentally delayed - but happy and fun and we love him to pieces - oops, squeezed too hard, better pop that piece back on).
Then I hear about the subscriptions and go through all the emotions. Damn, I’ve never joined a Board of Any kind in my life. I found the SDMB and think it is an exceptional place to have insightful and absurd discussions, all with the backdrop of fighting facts with ignorance … uh, strike that, reverse it.
I figured that $5 for a year is a better investment than putting another burger in this bod. Considering the phone, internet, cable, gas - for the car! - I evaluated and find it’s well worth it. I’ve bought exercise equipment and memberships. I’ve bought Columbia House tapes of Star Trek and Franklin Mint sculptures.
This is an investment in time and thought that I find I Actually Use.
For those of you leaving over 5/yr-the-first-year - I don't know your individual reasons. I'd hate to jump to assumptions. I would hate to fly off the handle and say {crying} What the F#% do you think you’re doing leaving Tars! You were one of the reasons I enjoy this group! You didn’t pay an annual subscription to Ars Technica but you settled for an awful one! WTF! You’re more valuable than that! {sobering} But then I have no right to judge, not knowing the circumstances or your values.
So, who’s in? And what’s this AIM stuff? And in what thread’s are you and the others talking about staying and going?
…
And what do you think they’ll do in the next new episode? [sub]Had to pretend to get back to the Enterprise topic and keep this thread on track.[/sub]
The threads are in IMHO and MPSIMS. I’ve lately branched out and have been reading other fora than CS and the ENT threads so I’ve read a bit here and there on who’s leaving and not.
And AIM would be AOL Instant Messenger. I occasionally pester viva there if bored and have nothing better to do. She usually ignores me.
Click on that link up above, by the way. It’s a board made by NCB for Trekkies an’ stuff. I’m sure we can keep it going in addition to our threads here. HOSHIHOSHIHOSHIHOSHIHOSHIHOSHI
By the way, athelas, I don’t know if you noticed in the thread about your leaving, I said I’d miss your input. Get someone to sponsor you! Or at least join NCB’s board.
In “Damage” they will mourn the dead, fix the ship and see that T’Pol is taking teeny weeny bits of Trellium-D because she has been addicted to it ever since “Impulse.”
I became a Charter Member just so I could be called Stupid?
For some reason, everytime I see “Charter member”, I think I’m standing up in front of a classroom some evening saying, “Uh, I’m CornerCase, and, uh, I’m, uh, … uh, a Trekkie.” and the group responds, “HI CORNERCASE”.
I think T’Pol is secretly a Dom. She accepted a job in San Francisco with the humans to carry on her obsession. She’s probably weraing latex under those outfits. Look at how she gets pissed when everyone doesn’t listen to her. Then she gets mind raped and that sends her over the edge. She has a bong stashed in the Trellium Shuttle and hangs out in it after her shift ends.
I’m sure that’s how ABC’s programming decision was made. “Man, we’re getting killed at 9:00. What’s our competition? American Idol? Okay, that’s tough, but— What? Enterprise? Holy crap! No wonder! Whose stupid idea was it to compete with that? Damn. Let’s just run a test pattern from 9:00 to 10:00…”
Heh. More likely: “We’re getting killed! What’s our competition? Enterprise? Is that still on? Pfff. Oh, American Idol! That’s different.”
Enterprise is moving back to its original time slot of 8pm, probably when the newest eps start in April.
I taped the double header of ENT last night so I could send sponsor info to evay, but noticed there were no promos. They tend to show a bunch of promos on the weekend reruns, when they really ought to run them on Wednesdays.
Caught another grammatical boo-boo in “Chosen Realm” when someone said “none of them are” instead of the correct “none of them is.”
