I recommend the ‘Ups and Downs’ episodes from TrekCulture that explain all the references you missed.
Here, for instance, is the analysis of Twovix.

I recently saw that same theory somewhere about TOS.
It’s a roast of Admiral Boimler at his retirement dinner.
Anyone who has tried to do a “quick update” to their PC knows exactly what the Captain was going through.
Word. This was Freeman in that episode:
This week’s episode was really funny. A peek into Orion culture.
I liked how Mariner noped out of the battle between Tendi and her sister, and still got stabbed.
And then got stabbed for a fourth time off-camera.
I liked how T’Lyn threw away that PADD she’d been carrying around, because Tendi hadn’t agreed to have her culture get documented.
Mariner getting stabbed in the same spot every time made me literally LOL.
Another moment I really liked was Mariner’s very serious “Don’t” when T’Lynn went to go help Tendi. It was a very real moment in a very silly show.
I suppose my favorite line from the episode was “Grits grits grits.”
I like that moment too. It shows how much Mariner’s grown up since the first season. That Mariner would have been in the middle of the fight, but now she knows she has to give D’Vana and D’Erika the space to work it out themselves. With swords.
What do we think the ship-destroying thingy is? I’m thinking the Space Koala is involved somehow. Also, how long before it blows up a Borg Cube?
I’m guessing it’s not destroying them, but capturing them somehow - that beam it hits them with is some sort of transporter or digitizer or something, and there’s some alien menagerie where they’re taking them.
The dueling Twains had me laughing my ass off.
Will Boimler along with Badgy on a mission from Section 31.
I think, quite honestly, it’s Peanut Hamper and AGIMON’s team-up.
I really do think Badgy might be involved.
I think it was the Klingons who said there was 1 life sign aboard - I hope its not peanut hamper (again).
Badgy was shown to be still with us at the end of season 3 when someone retrieved Rutherford’s previous eyepiece.
Also seen in a brief flash in one of the trailers for this season.
I don’t think it is. Peanut Hamper’s locked up in the Federation’s Evil Computer Warehouse along with the CBS computer.
I did enjoy seeing the whole crew lose their shit due to telepathy. Especially Migleemo.
“Enjoy hell, replicator!”
