'Star Trek: Next Generation' crew vs. the X-Men

While visiting Earth, Jean-Luc Picard takes time out to tour the archeological remains of the Charles Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters. Guinan accompanies him, and reveals that she visited the school on an earlier visit to Earth. “What was the legendary Professor like?” asks the Captain. “He was a lot like you.” the mysterious barmaid sniggers.

Suddenly, the ever obnoxious Q appears! “She’s not kidding! You’re both bald, over-enunciating hams! Want to see for yourself?” asks his annoying omnipotence. In a blink of an eye, Picard is hurled into the past and stands outside the gates of the historic mutant hideout of the late 20th & early 21st century. Before long, Guinan has alerted the crew of the starship “Enterprise” to Q’s latest mischief. Thus yet again, the Enterprise crew embark on their favorite past-time - traveling back in time and interfering in historic events. Captain Picard & crew come face to face with the X-Men.

Naturally, this being a “crossover”, some contrived excuse will come up to pit the teams against each other. A fight ensues between Picard, Riker, Data, Worf, Laforge, Crusher & Troi vs. Prof. X, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Wolverine, Nightcrawler & Colossus.

So who wins?

Believe it or not, they actually had something like this. The Enterprise teamed up with the X-Men when Q sent the ship to the Marvel Universe. They had it in a comic book, then had a sequel by the name of Planet X in novel form. Don’t think the two teams ever fought though…

The Fans!

Oh boogers! :frowning:

In fact, I vaguely recall this myself. But it was the comic book version of the X-Men. This thread is concerned with the film version of the X-Men, an animal of a vaguely different stripe. (I was going to call this thread “Q gets jiggy with Patrick Stewart’s alternate realities”, but thought better.)

The original question still stands though, who is the victor in the battle?

The X-Men. Hell, Wolverine could take out the bridge crew by himself (INCLUDING Worf).

That’s not saying much, though. Worf did frequently get his butt handed to him on The Next Generation.

Might as well send Kamala back with the TNG crew, just for laughs. Although the X-Men would probably assume she was Mystique and kill her immediately.

“Number one, begin orbital bombardment of upstate New-York”
“Yes, sir.”
“Alright then, who is up for tea?”

BAMPF!
“Captain the antimatter regulators just vanished!”
“Oh shi…”
KABOOOM!

Did Worf Win any fights in TNG ? I mean, it seemed to become a cliche that any baddie they ran up against, Worf would launch himself at growling, and just to showcase the prowess of their adversary of the week…

We know that Star Trek transporters can’t operate through shields. Does Nightcrawler’s teleportation have the same limitation? How about Kitty Pryde’s phasing power?

Nightcrawler doesn’t like to teleport “blind,” but he can. So, I’m thinking shields not a problem.

Magneto would probably be able to inflict some serious damage.

As would Wolverine.

However, X-Men would lose as soon as Troi gets around to “reading” them.

“Captain, I sense great joy. And gratitude! Joy. And Gratitude!”

Plus, Wesley is a mutant himself. Who does he fight for?

I’d prefer this scenario:

“Captain, I sense grat…”

SNIKT

Can’t be won by either side - you have two verifiable deus-ex-machinas in Wesley and Wolverine and they’re on opposite teams.

Unstoppable force, unmovable object. Stalemate.

Nightcrawler can only teleport two miles tops in any one jump. He couldn’t make it to the ship in space while it bombarded the Institute. Prof X at his best could immobilize the crew, however, and Phoenix could easily take them. We don’t really know what Xorn could do, but it’s possible that he could vaporize them from Earth.

On the other hand, I can just see the outcome if it were the Original Series crew. I mean, there’s no way that Wolverine could possibly not tear Kirk’s shirt.

NOOOOOOOO… must… resist… call of… comics! I will not give in! I will be strong! I will NOT start a comics addiction!

Despite the fascinating possibilities of a TNG crossover. That’s why I opened the thread, I’m a Trekkie.

(Shit, I nearly typed that as “I will not be strong!” Freudian slip?)

You think we are not strong. We are strong.
Hey, if the Pakleds could take TNG, at least for a while, then let’s just see what Miss Marvel, Magneto, Scotty could do!

Of course, if it was TOS, Kirk would simply talk them into destroying themselves. :dubious:

…and Janeway would slingshot around Sol so that she goes back in time to when Xavier was born and kill him in a fit of menopausal rage.

Give nightcrawler a pressure suit and he can get into space in a series of ports.
