That’s exactly why I mentioned Guinan. Although their relationship was never articulated, Picard did lean heavily on Guinan for advice and emotional support. He trusted her word even more at times than he did Troi’s. And of course, he sought her advice on the Borg, since Guinan’s civilization was destroyed and her people were scattered through space by them.
Maybe there could be a Picard/Guinan/Twain reunion.
Guinan is supposed to be immortal, or near as much so as to make no difference. I haven’t seen Whoopi lately - does she look the same she did 25 years ago?
She dyed her hair for a role. Here’s how she looked back in July of this year.
There’s no reason to believe she couldn’t be made up to look like Guinan again. After all, Brent Spiner wanted Data to die, because “androids don’t age, but actors do,” yet he’s agreed to play Data once again.
If only it had made that clear in the article that I linked. Oh, wait, it did.
And I’m making it clear if she can look one way for one role, she can look differently for another role.
Sheesh.
She’s not immortal; El-Aurians live for several hundred years though. So she definitely could still be hanging around, tending bar on some Orion garbage scow somewhere.
And I was observing what she looks like right now at this very moment, not making a claim that “she has aged to the point of being grey and can never modify her appearance again,” assuming that anyone who clicked the link would be capable of comprehending that it was a look for a role by the process of reading the words in the article.
Sheesh.
Yours is a valid observation as long as people click the link. Not everybody will. I was making the observation for those who don’t click links.
Makeup, shmakeup. I’ll go out on a limb here and guess that CGI can nowadays work wonders in eliminating signs of age.
Sy Fy Wire article. Everything we know so far.
It helped me better understand how these events may tie together.
And here it be.
Watched it. It has my interest. We shall see.
Patrick Stewart asks Whoopi to appear in Star Trek. She said yes! Guinan will be back for a guest role.

Now they just need to invite Gates McFadden to return.
I have reservations about mystery box arcs (They serve the mystery and are gimmicky) and short series (The actors are just props with no time for character evolution)
BUTTTTTTTT…with established characters my distaste is less and this looks interesting
So i caught the first episode and all you folks who don’t like Discovery are probably going to be ambivalent about this one. Frackin toasters running around
I liked it, I’m willing to see where it goes.
