Now if they could bring in Wiiliam Shatner…:smack:
Whoa! He’s old!
Sir Pat is 79. Yikes.
Looks promising. No prequel or reboot. This could be just what I want from a new Star Trek. Not that they aren’t fully capable of finding a way to ruin it.
I’d like Worf back, just to see him carry a disassembled Data on his back.
Quark and The Grand Nagus are about the only ones from DS9 that would be worth seeing again.
Yeah, Borg are a annoying but don’t ever get on the bad side of whales again.
What, no Kai Opaka or Aleek-Om? LITERALLY UNWATCHABLE.
Seriously tho, it looks amazing. All I’ve ever wanted from Trek the past 20 years was something that actually moves the story forward.
This might actually be interesting. I’ll give it a few episodes, just based on the teaser. I wasn’t too impressed before - now I’m intrigued.
Has a lot of STD smell about it…but looks, like you said, very intrguing!
I’d love to see what Garak’s been up to. I’m also interested in seeing how things are going for Starfleet’s first Ferengi.
Which Grand Nagus? Zek or his successor, Rom?
“This facility has gone 5843 days without an assimilation.”
That bodes well.
The debut episode looks very interesting. Hoping it is an episode focused on the Borg. It’s really creative to bring back Jonathan Del Arco as Hugh and Jerri Ryan, Seven of Nine.
This concept would have made a great movie. I’m looking forward to seeing how it goes. Will the entire season focus on the Borg and the mysterious woman Picard wants to help? That could be a lot of fun to watch.
It’ll still be good if this is just a 90 minute story for the pilot. I’m just not sure where it goes from here? Picard is a bit old to resume patrolling space with a young crew. There’s too many great candidates graduating Star Fleet Academy that deserve a chance to serve as Captains on Starships.
I think they must have something else in mind for Picard after the first story ends. There has to be a reason he gives up retirement.
Marina Sirtis confirms that Troi and Riker are back.
Does this mean we’ll get a USS Titan story? I’m hoping it does.
Yeah, the central tease of the trailer is who is that young woman who’s in serious danger?
We see her emoting a bit, also running at an unnatural speed and kicking some ass against apparently holosuite characters.
Also, Picard and Data are playing poker. Any thoughts about whether that’s also in a holosuite?
Are you talking about the shot of her kicking the guy off the stairs? I think the guy was being beamed out of the fall, not a holodeck character disappearing. It sounded like it had a beaming sound effect, anyway.
Oooh, yeah. Could be transporter.
But that doesn’t mean that’s not the central Maguffin. She’s some sort of enhancile/alien/whatever. She clearly exceeds human norms.
That’s clearly not a Starfleet ship they’re on, and Picard isn’t the one sitting in the Captain’s chair, that beardy fellow is.
And he’s not even in uniform.
She’s almost certainly a former Borg or something. It looks like the Romulans are holding a lot of humans in that prison facility with the “5843 days without an assimilation” notice, including her. So she clearly escapes there.
5843 days is just under 16 years so, a little less than the 20 years Picard mentions have passed since Insurrection - which is also, coincidentally (?), the age of Isa Briones. Although they may also have her play a 16 y.o., it’s Hollywood after all.
And I can’t help but mention that that’s not what a MacGuffin is…
None of them are, that’s what I meant by “not Starfleet”
I don’t understand how so many people recognise Third of Five, aka Hugh, as though we’re all familiar with who that is, when I have no memory at all of him. I don’t even know which one he is in the trailer.
