One of the show’s Producers tweeted outright that Vadik is indeed a Changeling which was not how I read that scene at all. I had assumed she was Humanoid and the Changeling she spoke to was her handler and they held something over her. That second part may still be true but the fact that she is just a Changeling is disappointing and makes some aspects of that scene not make much sense.
Im gonna blur this out cause it makes sense
Vadics handler is a Pah-Wraith. Vadic and her crew are changelings. They’re the changelings who were on the ships the Prophets whisked away. The Prophets sent them to ‘hell’. Or Pah-Wraith land. Or that fire-pit place. Jack, via his DNA (See Wesley)…is a doorway for the Pah-Wraiths to escape.
Not the worst idea but it renders Sisko’s entire existence and mission moot if there’s any possibility of the Pah-Wraiths escaping.
Unless Sisko comes back and saves them at the end…
This season needs to be longer then 10 eps. Be cool if every ep from here on were 1:30 to two hours.
Yeah, that was my reaction too. “WHY ARE YOU STOPPING?!?”
NO KILL I
Oh wait, you said “Vorta”.
Loved the episode. I feel the writers of it deserve an Emmy nomination.
I saw in passing “space babies” before I saw the episode and I was really worried the outcome would be something like “space momma” scanning the Titan and we hear in an electronic voice “You are explorers like we once were. You do not belong here.” and Mom saves them via deus ex machina.
Oh gawd…I see from the thumbnails of spoilers videos, I’m gonna cry and cry over this ep.
My GF was as much not into Game of Thrones as she is not into Trek, so she’s not gonna understand my emotional investment into this season. Hopefully when its over and done the creators will respond well to all the positive feedback they’ve got, and start a new series with whoevers left.
I’ve said forever that the TNG backdrop was immensely fertile for a new show.
Of course Daystrom Station is guarded by a sophisticated AI system. Starfleet never learns.
Unfortunately, it is Bing.
They are ripping off a fair bit from Stranger Things, too. Raffi and Mr. Woof must be on the Upside Down planet considering all the floating ash or whatever it is. And with all the waking visions Jack is having with the growing tentacles/vines, I can only assume he’s been taken over by the Mind Flayer like Will (Byers, not Riker) was.
never mind
…so that’s a trilogy of appearances from Twelve Monkey actors. Shaw, Sneed and Krin, with both Sneed and Krin being like brothers just a bit on the nose, I’m hoping for an appearance by Amanda Schull next week.
We know from prepublicity that Moriarty is coming back so maybe he is the AI. And yeah the Raffi plot has had a Wannabe Star Wars vibe from the first episode.
I have to say I was aghast at the idea of a Vulcan crime lord at first but by the end it worked. I thought at first he was a Vulcan who rejected Surak (there are a few of those) but making him logical was the better choice.
…well, no, we all didn’t know that.
But I suppose now we do.
As a person who hates spoilers myself, I should have known better so I apologize but every blurb I saw that said the Next Gen crew was coming back also mentioned what I posted and I was actively trying to avoid learning too much so I thought it was common knowledge. But I screwed up. Maybe a mod can edit my post?
Which horrible ST storyline ended up with a conspiracy to the very tops of the Fleet by aliens?
Surprise guest character: You may be arrested for treason.
Picard: And they say irony is dead.
So is jack a Foundling…or whatever Odo was? How could Beverly not know? Or if she does know, why tell Picard Jack is his son?
Maybe Jack’s human, but his genetics were influenced by his father’s time as a Borg. Do we know of other former Borgs who’ve had children?
There are theories online that the changelings have “evolved” by somehow merging with humans or humanoids. So maybe Jack is real but he’s been merged with a changeling… Maybe he doesn’t even know it.
