Star Trek Picard Season 3 discussion (open spoilers)

Yeah…maybe as a five year old or so, he found a lost little Foundling (again, an Odo-like baby) and they merged.

Oh, you mean Alien Orphan (also known as “Doug”.)

Quark: “So that was Bajor before the occupation?”

Odo: “…yes.”

Quark: “I see why they fell.”

Shaw is great. I think he’s the first major Star Trek character to be totally over Star Trek.

Yeah, I’d watch his spin-off.

I like how Shaw’s ‘Chicken and the Egg’ comment stomps any discussiion of the ‘temporal paradox that nearly wiped out humanity’

I thought the fight sequence seemed very reminiscent of when Dahj’s android powers were activated upon being threatened by the Zhat Vhash strike team, so I took it as an indication that there might be something synthetic about him, but maybe with a different flavor—maybe some connection to the ‘higher synthetics’ or being partially synthetic or what have you.

Anyway, as for this most recent episode, I thought it was the strongest yet—the changelings’ plan to get rid of Ro didn’t make terribly much sense (so they set her up the bomb, but give it enough of a fuse to have her warn Picard and cripple the Intrepid?), and I don’t particularly care for how everything ultimately seems to come down to Picard’s unresolved attachment issues (then again, it is called ‘Star Trek: Picard’), but other than that, I’m invested, and I did like the merging of the two main plotlines.

At least he doesn’t spend all his time crying and whispering. And only a little gushing about how much he loves his fellow crewmembers.

You didn’t screw up. It’s been well known for a while. Lore too. Not much time left to get them into the game.

“Well known” is relative. Some of us have not been reading what you read and have previously known neither of those things.

I had not, for example. I doubt I am the only one.

It seems pretty basic to spoiler box something that has not yet been broadcast even if you think everyone MUST have read what you have.

I would think that open spoilers refers to broadcast shows and broadcast material

However I also will only refer to broadcast shows and not other material

Though at this point the only spoilers that could come up if showrunners tweeted about something not yet revealed as we’ve seen a couple of times

The official trailer for Picard Season 3 has been out for over a month now and it features both Moriority and Lore. I don’t really think that deserves spoiler tags, seeing as how the actual episodes have not aired, and official trailers are something anyone could have been reasonably expected to have seen and commented on.

Also, it says “Open Spoilers” right in the thread title. Proceed at your own risk.

I tend to avoid trailers and “next week on” segments. I, too was spoiled on the recent point.

Perhaps it would also be wise to steer clear of “open spoilers” threads.

We veer into ATMB territory but “open spoilers” to me is for what has been shown on the show. Not what you know is to come from outside of the show itself.

Are widely available trailers from Paramount+ considered “outside of the show itself”? I think we’re arguing in circles here. In any event, it’s about time for those mystery characters to show up, because there’s not a whole lot of season left in the season.

Yes? By definition?

And yet I doubt Paramount itself would consider trailers to be spoilers or they wouldn’t release them—they’d be stealing their own thunder as it were. Guess we’ll have to agree to disagree on this one. I’ve spoilered any names since it has been brought to my attention.

Created an ATMB thread for further discussion.
