The finale felt wrong, somehow, like it was written in the editing room. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that they filmed two episodes, threw away three quarters of their footage, and then filmed a bunch of filler of people explaining stuff so that there would be a semblance of a story.
Season 3 seems to have been a problem.
Thank you guys for following along with us on this journey. There were certainly sort of stumbling blocks along the way, you know, season 3, I’m very happy it’s over. Because we had a strike, and we sort of had to manage all sort of work on the fly a little bit.
I’ll concede it wasn’t the best season. I really enjoyed some of the episodes though. The guy who played Pike, Anson Mount, is a really good actor. I’d say his acting is at another level relative to many other cast members. It was his acting that made the final episode more interesting because I could really feel his pain at having to let go of his girlfriend, even if it was for a kinda dumb reason.
If you like him, have you ever seen the show Hell On Wheels? That’s where I first saw him, and he was great there. It was sort of like Deadwood, but with a bit less realism and a lot more revenge plots.
ETA: Oh, and it features Chief O’Brien as the Big Bad.
I’ll check it out!
I recently rewatched Sex and the City and a young twenty something Anson Mount was the guy who gave Charlotte crabs.
So he’s a cook on both shows?
