Not true. Bail, I would imagine, refers to Bail Organa, or Leia’s foster father. He was a high-ranking official of the Alderaanian gov’t, and helped Mon Mothma and Garm Bel Iblis set up the Rebellion.

Bail Organa is in the novels, as Leia’s foster Dad. But Bail Antilles was mentioned in Episode 1 (he had lines and everything, but his scenes were cut out). Therefore, current speculation amongst the fans is that Bail is actually a rank or title, and not a name.

Also, the theory that Owen is Obi-Wan’s brother comes from the novelisation of Return of the Jedi. Whereas the theory of him being Anakin’s half-brother came from the actor who is playing Owen in Episode 2 (before his reading the script, I guess). The truth may actually be neither of those.

I read in Empire Magazine that the story of ep II will centre around a love triangle. Annokin will fall for Queen Amildala but she will be forced into a political marriage of convienience(is that spelled correctly?) with someone … can’t remember with whom. I’d say this will make annikin nuts and he will go dark from this.

Also read that yoda and s.l.Jackson will whup ass and the Clone Wars will not take place until epIII

Yes, in Shadows of the Empire. He was this first creature to have sex with Princess Leia (at least, the first documented case)

Anyone else see the news that Jimmy Smits is going to play Bail Organa?

I don’t know - I think Anakin will go off the deep end over the slave issue. It’s set-up for it after all. He’s vowed to go back and free the slaves. He’s very attached to his mother. He goes back. Mother dies. He cracks.

And I agree with the conjecture that he’ll be a bit more big-headed in Ep II and I’m glad to see it. After all he’s late to jedi training and you should expect him to be more emotional.

I’m not terribly concerned with the memory erase thing. After all, in EPIV, Owen tells Luke to “take the droids down to Anchorhead and have their memory erased.” It would seem that this was a common enough practice when Droids changed hands. Perhaps Artoo had never had his erased, which explains his relative wisdom of situations compared to Threepio’s apparent confusion.

And the character is referred to as “Captain Antilles” in EPIV as Threepio and Artoo’s prior owners. One possibility is that Captain is his military rank, and Bail is some sort of title of nobility (like Earl or Duke), however a much simpler explanation exists. Bail could be a first name; and I see no reason why Bail Organa and Bail Antilles couldn’t have the same first name. How many people do you know named “Mike.” As to any relation between Bail Antilles and Wedge, one could easily see the whole Antilles family involved in the rebellion. After all, Wedge is only supposed to be 16 or 17 at the time of the Battle of Yavin; it is quite likely that older family members of his are involved in the rebellion as well. It could also be a total coincidence that they share a last name. How many people do you know named “Johnson.”
