Star Wars: The Musical

Made by high school students in California in 1996.

So far I recognize music from Les Miz, Phantom and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Great fun if you’re both a Star Wars geek and love musicals.

And here, I thought this thread was going to be about the musical version of Star Wars that Mad Magazine put together. 30 years later, I can still remember some of the words.

The attack on the Death Star (to the tune of “We’re Off to See the Wizard”):
We’re off to kill the bad guys
And blow them right out of the sky
And if we miss
You all can kiss
Our friends back there goodbye!

love it. reminds me of this youtube video which combines star wars with phantom. really well made and hilarious.

Back in 1974 or 1975 I was stationed at the Presidio of Monterey, California. A local group did a musical version of Star Trek, set to the music of H.M.S. Pinafore.

“We boldly go where men
Have never gone before us”

Spock’s line was best.

*“And I never, never mess with girls!”

“What, never?”

“Well, almost never.”*
