Stargate SG-1 & Atlantis returned last night [spoilers]

Yup, now would be a great time for some Furlings to show themselves, and the other race you’re talking about is the Nox I think. They could really use their help, even if they are mostly non-violent. Their ability to hide whole cities would come in handy.

Yeah, that really is the only real problem I’ve had with the series. These very technologicaly advanced civilizations that don’t seem to have a clue. The Tolon got wiped out because they sat back and assumed that the G’ould wouldn’t be able to come up with anything better than they had. That seems like a pretty stupid assumption to me. Maniacal race bent on taking over the galaxy that think they’re gods…oh, with a genetic memory and a lot of high technology already…nope don’t see a problem with them at all. Same with the Nox…sure you’re more advanced now, but with you being all passive and un-warlike and such, you don’t think that the bad guys might be trying to come up with a way of negating your technological advantage? …idiots.

And didn’t we see the furlings in the 200th episode? The fuzzy guys?

Yeah, but we also saw Cheyenne Mountain get leveled in that episode, so I don’t think I would go with it as in continuity.

Yes, Cheyenne Mountain is still there. Interestingly,

Coincidence? Really? I think not.

I’m going to Colorado Springs soon and while there I want to have a look at the entrance myself.

They’re off being really freaking annoying somewhere else.

We did have one Asgard show up last season (or was it the first half of this season?) to help with something. Damned if I can remember what. I just remember wishing his ass would blow up because he was a condescending little bastard. I’m pretty sure he was helping out in the season ender last season, though.

I thought the specials were direct-to-DVD? Are they going to be airing on Sci-Fi?

As far as Claudia Black and Ben Browder, I think they’ve fit in quite well. RDA was a bit of a bore to me, but I’m aware that I’m in the minority with that one. My husband’s not thrilled that I make him watch this, since when we first started watching (one of the RDA seasons), they always seemed to be sitting around a board room table. It was a bit like watching C-Span with aliens.

E.

I watch. Religiously.

A ninth chevron would be awesome. If the eigth is for jumping galaxies then the ninth must be for time travel like Pink Frued said or for jumping dimensions.

I hope it isn’t for jumping sharks.

I think the Acme Shark/MGM end title animation at the end of the show proves this show cantakerously jumps sharks for breakfast, and safely lands each time.

Well, the Ancients built the Stargates and they were opposed to time travel, weren’t they? There was one rebellious Ancient scientist playing around with it but he got more or less censored, didn’t he? That didn’t stop him from stashing a time travel-equipped puddle jumper here and there, but for the most part, I have a hard time believing they’d actually build time travel right into the gate system.

We know you can exploit a gate glitch and time travel if you create a wormhole through your local star during increased sunspot activity, but that’s a glitch, right?

I was also thinking maybe the ninth chevron might lead to alternate universes, but we know they’ve got those mirror things which enable you to cross over into alternate universes, so I wonder if they’d bother building that into the gate system either.

Anything’s possible though. Obviously the Ancients had hyperdrive, yet still built Stargates anyway.

censored=censured, but I probably should have just said “told not to do it anymore.”
