I was hoping for someone to get Dr Fates mask, and for brief cameos by Sandman and Spectre.
Oh well.

SOLO MISSION - As the team devise a plan to deal with their latest threat, Sylvester takes matters into his own hands and leaves Courtney, Pat and the JSA fearing for what comes next.
Note that there is one more episode after tonight’s.
Brian
The Ultra-Humanite put his brain into Sylvester Pemberton’s body?! That was a twist I wasn’t expecting at all. But it mostly explains everything about recent events – Sylvester’s erratic behavior, why he survived an attack similar to the one that killed the Gambler, his supportive comments to the JSA that actually undermined them. One of the biggest question that remains is why they killed the Gambler in the first place. An even bigger question perhaps is why the staff chose to go to fake-Sylvester over Courtney.
I will be traveling during the season series finale so the episode update may be delayed. Feel free to continue discussion.
So, the Ultra-Humanite saved the world from Eclipso…
Another question is what happened to the Gambler’s daughter.
I assume the Gambler was killed because he was someone who was turning good - and might recognize the Ultrahumanite’s personality in “Starman.” Same for the Crocks - who “Starman” tried to kill.
I’d been wondering about Artemis’ absence from the group all season-long, and why Starman took so long to get to Blue Valley for even longer than that - and both were clues.
THE FINAL SHOWDOWN - Courtney and the JSA find themselves in the fight of their lives against their biggest threat yet.
Wow. That finale was loads of fun - with the prospect of a reunion movie if they’d like.
I thought the finale was very well done.
Something that occurred to me: On the season 2 finale, when Eclipso possesses Courtney, he bellows, “Only one can control the Cosmic Staff!”
Then (as we thought) Starman grabs the staff and says, “Well, maybe two.”
The “maybe” just seemed snarky at the time, but since it was really the Ultra Humanite in Starman’s body, he couldn’t know for certain if it would respond to him.
I figured there would be some denouement after the climatic battle – but there was a lot of material there.(reminiscent of LOTR)
As befitting a finale they did tie up some threads:
Becky getting the letter from The Gambler
Mike visiting his mon
Artemis killing Icicle (wonder if Courtney et al found out – I can’t imagine they would approve)
(I did expect to see Grandpa Mekhent one more time if only in the background)
So with the appearance of the OG Flash is that make the first solid Arrowverse tie-in? (sure, they have mentioned the Flash and others, but not necessarily the Arrowverse versions of them)
Brian
I was hoping that Mom would put on one of the relics and become a JSA member.
I was disappointed that Grundy didn’t make an appearance when it would have made more of a difference. Battling Dragon King, for instance, would have been a good way for him to even the odds.
And has Pat EVER been effective with STRIPE? It’s a giant fricking robot that seems to suffer from Worf syndrome, it’s only ever there to get its ass kicked. I have never been enough into the SG comics to know whether or not this is typical.
I’m not sure that DK and UH saving Pemberton’s brain makes much sense, but it is a comic book movie show, so…
Re: Artemis killing Icicle. I’m sure she didn’t tell the others. Dragon Queen would have approved, though.
And I think I read somewhere that the OG Flash isn’t the one Barry knows.
Just watched the final scene again. When I hit pause, I saw that Dr. Mid-Nite’s sign said “Interactive Goggles Activity”. The Dragon Queen’s sign said “Lair” instead of “Wing” for her section, and also said “Scales of Justice”. Maybe she wasn’t able to remove them from herself completely, although since they weren’t shown on her face, she might have been able to halt their growth.
The most recent episode of Titans had a cameo from Courtney. (Plus a few media clips from othe DC properties.)
