Did anyone see the end of the Stars Oilers game from last night? Stars surge back from 4-1 to tie the game, then take the lead.
With one minute left, the Stars’ Patrik Stefan creates a turnover and skates toward an empty net ready to put it away. He *misses *the empty net and the Oilers make a nice pass to a breaking player who scores to tie the game in the last few seconds.
In the end, the Stars won the shootout (with another nice goal by Jossi Jokinen) but the free point to Edmonton may come back to bite someone in the ass.
I watched the first period and turned it off after the Star started the game by stinking up the place.
Stefan said that the puck hopped over his stick because of some choppy ice. At least he has a good attitude about it and realizes that the play is going to be shown for the next ‘million years’ as a blooper.
Jussi is just incredible in the shootouts. I don’t know what it is but he has some serious mojo when it comes to breakaways/ shootouts. Even when the goalies know what he is going to do (he really only has two moves and claims of a third) he still beats them with that shot that goes just over the pad.
