I joined. Now I’ll never get anything done today…
I categorized most of mine last night. That was fun… but my mouse clicking fingers are sore today.
It’s good that the e-mail updates come in digest form. There were two updates this morning – one with over 1200 updates and one with 600+.
Goodreads lets friends look at friends’ friends. So if you get friend requests from people whose names you don’t recognize, they might be coming from the Yahoo BookCrazy group. They’re good people.
I just want to thank you, jsgoddess, for doing this. It’s a really great site. I do wonder when I’ll feel the sun on my face again, or do any work …or eat.
Or read.
I’m having a blast with it too and echo the thank-yous. It’s fun to click on one of your books and see which of your friends have read it and how they rated it. I’ve also enjoyed going through everyone’s lists and browsing, adding books to my “to read” list, and remembering “hey, I’ve read that too.” The “to read” list will come in especially handy for me. Should cut down on the random notes floating around in my purse with names of books on them.
I joined (same username as here). Now to start adding books!
koeeoaddi just sent me the requisite engraved invitation, so I’ve joined – my reading time is so sporadic these days, though (it just took me *two weeks * to finish the last 100 pages of a book I started on vacation), that I’m not sure how much of an addition I’ll be.
I’m in, and have stayed up way too late tonight adding books from my shelves and other people’s lists. Good grief, this is addictive.
May I make a suggestion? If you’re registered there under a different name than the one you use here, could you put your Dopername in you profile there? I’ve added a couple of the names I recognize, but six months from now I’m not going to want to have to find this thread to ID you over there.
I signed up as Otsana. This thread coincided with my big “sort through my bookshelves” project, so I’m only about halfway through adding everything I own. And then some of it has to go up on paperbackswap as well…
I added it after my bio thingie. My profile page is a bit odd since I’m an “author.”
Question: Is there any kind of a function on that site where it will tell you “People who liked this book also liked the following books…” or something like that? It seems like a no-brainer but I can’t seem to find anything like it there.
I’m now up to seven. I’ll catch up!
The process should be fast, but I’m an odd one and I am searching items by ISBN, not by cover.
I’m surprised at just how much you guys read. I’m a slow reader in comparison!
Must…stop…playing…on…Goodreads…
I’ve joined too (same name as here). Haven’t added anything yet and might not until I get back from vacation… But it looks like so much fun!

I’m on too, as Anna.
Just what I need, another time sucking site, grumblegrumblegrumble.
In my defense, I’ve added all the books on my shelf plus all the books I’ve read this year. I’ve only got three out now, one of which I’m actually reading.
I signed up as Jersf. I’ve mostly added comics. I’ll have to look at profiles to remember a lot of the others I’ve read.
An easy way to add books quickly is to pull up someone else’s shelf, or type a term like “poetry” into the search box. Rating a book adds it to your “read” list, or you can add it without rating, or add it to “to-read.”
