That people can and do see things differently? I doubt it.
As for this specifically, I’ve always agreed he would get off.

Even if that were true, there are few places that the law is as lenient as it is in Florida regarding self defense. Most parts of the country shooting a “bad guy” the way Zimmerman did will get you locked up.
That would be awful. Imagine how it must feel to try to just innocently walk down the street, never sure if that odd-acting person in that slow moving car creeping along behind you is going to attack you for no reason.
Played like the best politicians. Argue your position passionately and point to its obviousness, but concede the likeliness of defeat.
Nobody can say you were wrong.
Has there been a highly publicized crime against a black person that didn’t result in an acquittal in the past 50 years?
It’s the big break they have all been waiting for.
Harry Callahan: I know what you’re thinking. “Did he have Skittles or were they Sweet Tarts?” Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you’ve got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

And every one of those racist fucks deserved to die, IMHO.
The .44 mag isn’t the most powerful handgun in the world anymore. But hey, cool story bro.
Somehow I don’t think the outcome of that trial would be the same.
Maybe; it should have gone to a grand jury, sure, but I’d wager pretty heavily he’d have been indicted by said grand jury. Bypassing it as Corey did certainly adds to the appearance of political meddling. How much that appearance was reality will probably come out in the months ahead.
Absolutely, if they feel the law is the problem, work on changing the law. That’s how democracy is supposed to work.
Sigh…
That’s actually a much more pointed criticism of the media than the justice system. Crimes with black victims often don’t become highly publicized in the first place.
The nightmare is over. Hope that both Corey and de la Rionda lose their jobs and get sued.
Not for Trayvon Martin or his parents.
Nope. He is absolutely not immune, at present, to any civil suit.
Trayvon’s nightmare ended a long time ago, bud.
Rodney King, the second trial.
Martin Family attorney: Trayvon Martin stands with Medgar Evars and Emmett Till as examples of blah, blah, blah.
Give me a fucking break.
Justice denied. The only consolation is that the scumbucket Zimmerman had to spend money on his defense and spent some time in jail.
I happen to think justice was served (but I’m not gonna let anyone in real life know that). Case was a sham, and the state did a very poor job of presenting a coherent line of reasoning.
