China’s leadership is wondering if their military is actually as good as it’s supposed to be, or if they’ll be caught short like Russia was when Ukraine decided to fight instead of surrender. That’s the thing people don’t get about dictatorships and other authoritarian governments: They breed corruption, waste, and incompetence, not just through criminals rising in the organization (which they do) but also through people falsely reporting things are going well because they’ll be punished if anyone finds out they’re going badly.
That’s good. It’s fitting that the party that destroyed abortion rights, caused Alabama clinics to cease IVF treatments has delivered a response from a woman in a kitchen.

I didn’t like it because she failed to ask her husband for his opinion mid-way, and seemed too uppity. Also I saw no evidence at all of any fresh baked bread.

I only made it 5 minutes in but your summary is spot on. WTF? I assume she took some drama classes at some point, but I can tell you, she didn’t pay that much attention during the “don’t overact” portion. From giddy, to sad, to mad, within 30 seconds. Weird shit indeed!
