Stats on 99er dopers

This guy (probably a spammer) is the last 99er. This can vary slightly depending on one’s time zone but regardless there are fewer than 3900 accounts. Someone more industrious than I can go through all of them and compile the information.

Hi! Interested in this tontine discussion…

And that guy ended up as a jackbooted thug.

Anything like the last Jedi?

I don’t call myself a lurker, but I do run silent most of the time. Just can’t convince myself that my comment would really enhance anyone’s SDMB experience on a particular subject most days.

But after a couple of warnings you get a rep as a troublemaker, which leads to less slack in notes vs warnings, which leads to more warnings, which leads to bannings. And warnings are forver.

Also, pretty much every human has had a shitty day, week or even month where they go off the deep end. This has lead to bannings. Just look at how many 99ers have been banned.

Don’t bother yourself.

You see, I was the very first to have an account here.
(I was also the very first to have a corrupted account file here, hence I’m further down in the member numbers.)

And because there is symmetry and order in the universe, it only stands to reason that I will be the last.

Thank you.

Sincerely yours,

your humble TubaDiva

PS: BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

No they haven’t.

No, I’m not Superman. Just ask my pal Jimmy. He’ll vouch for me. I think I hear his signal watch – I mean his cell phone – now.

Roy Moore’s horse is with us?

Need a new emoticon for that, I think.

I’m alive but I left the SDMB a long time ago and haven’t posted in years. Just random chance that the “in memoriam” thing came up in a different context with another friend who used to be on the boards and I came back out of curiosity, and saw this thread.

So hello, and I hope you’re all well, and now, after having reported in, I shall again depart.

Warnings might be forever, but their ability to give you a rep as a troublemaker isn’t. If we see three warnings against someone in the past two months, then yes, they’re a troublemaker. If we see one each from five, ten, and fifteen years ago, then they’re someone who mostly keeps things under control but occasionally loses their grip.

Hey, grandpa, I shudder to think about how you feel about us 2001ers

I know you probably know what she’s talking about, but just in case anyone else is curious.

Quiet, kid. The adults are talking.

Actually, I was sincere. I hadn’t realized that Johanna had once gone by a different name. Now that I see it, the name “Ishmintigas” vaguely rings a bell, but I couldn’t have told you anything about the poster by that name.

Damn good to see you, if only in passing.

Same goes for all the rest of you lurker/retired types.

I actually registered prior to Oct, but changed my username. So Oct '99 it is.

Come back, Shane, I mean Cervaise, come back!

(You know you want to.)

As long as we’re waving the '99er flag…

Do we get a special treat for our 20th anniversary next year?

Aside: One’s “posts per day” counter becomes very stable when you have nearly two decades of buffer to absorb lapses in participation. I’ve been holding steady at 0.3 ppd for as long as I can remember, but I’m sure I haven’t come close to that posting rate the last couple of years.
