A new Steve Goodman album is being released Tuesday: Live at the Earl of Old Town. It was recorded in 1978, and is just a complete recording of a show running a bit over an hour.
It kicks off with Lincoln Park Pirates, Red Red Robin and Three-Legged Man and includes Men Who Love Women Who Love Men, Grand Canyon Song and (of course) City of New Orleans. It’s just an ordinary show, but it’s pretty easy to tell on this album that the man loved what he did.
Sure, it’s all stuff you can get elsewhere, but I say anything that gets more of his music out there, the better.
