Sticky Threads?

Oh, Most Gracious Virtuosa of the Bass Brass Instruments:

On another vBB the software allows for what is termed “sticky threads” which remain at the top of the list of threads in each forum.

Since you crossposted a while ago (warning the rest of us not to take it as license to do likewise) with an important message on quoting and copyright, and there have been threads, e.g. Manny’s GQ Moderators Notes and the “suggestions on how to search for your answers” that are regularly brought up, that might deserve like treatment, would you consider checking with the Tech Guy of Wisdom and determine if that can be implemented here. It’s a separate function from the “Announcement” thread and affects one forum at a time rather than all forums as that does, so it would be possible to do both.

If it were implemented, such threads could either be locked after creation or open for comment, as you and the Mods. see fit.

And if that were only a vBulletin 2.x feature, what purpose would your flattery serve then, o sycophantic one?

Acknowledgments: I would like to thank Peter Mark Roget for making this post possible, and my parents for always having faith in me and encouraging me to strive for excellence.

“But where’s the love,” he cried plaintively (lamentedly, sorrowfully, mournfully, plangently).

Ever since they blocked porn at my work, I don’t have sticky threads at work anymore.
:from behind, “Back down in the basement with you!”
Abe Babe “I’m sorry, master.”

I thought I was going to get to tell about the time I sat on a lolly pop. :o

Polycarp, if it requires an upgrade, we ain’t gonna do it any time soon. It DOES sound like a great feature, though, and maybe someone more tech-savvy will tell us if it’s possible with this version of vBulletin.

It is possible in theory, sans a full upgrade, but you would have to let me do some php programming, and thus…you may as well upgrade. Therefore, I’m certain that the answer is “no”.

That would go here, I think …
