So… what exactly does the “Sticky” portion in the title of the Mod’s posts mean? I’ve seen it elsewhere too. What is it all about?
You know what a sticky note is? The thread “sticks” to the top, and never falls off the page.
It simply means that they are “stuck” at the top of the forum. (Thus the thumbtack graphic) No matter what non-sticky thread gets a more recent post to it, it will always remain on the top, and will never “fall off” the front of the forum page. It will simply remain where it was initially placed, unless a moderator removes it.
Well, that takes care of that.
Thanks.

In the interest of complete accuracy, that’s not entirely correct. Stickies which are open for posting will be bumped to the top of the list when a new post is made, and will be pushed down the list as new stickies are made, or other existing open stickies are posted to. They can, of course, never sink lower than the first non-sticky thread.

Carry on.
