Chuck Berry is still alive and rockin’ out at 88.
Honor Blackman is on the list.
I must be dreaming
Judge Joseph Wapner, 95.
Gotta figure the aforementioned de Havilland is the ultimate example, since her iconic role from the 1930s was as a sickly woman who ain’t long for this world.
Not only is she older than sliced bread, she’s older than bread itself!
The lovely Barbara Hale from Perry Mason is still alive. The best legal/secretary ever.
I just learned a few weeks ago that Rose Marie was still alive. And Bill Macy.
As is Lee Miller, 98, who played Sgt Brice. Richard Anderson, who played Lt Drum the last season (and Oscar in “$6 million dollar man” and “Bionic Woman”) is 89.
I watched James Cagney’s “Yankee Doodle Dandy” the other day and was surprised that Joan Leslie, who played his wife, is alive at 95. Leslie, was also in “Sergeant York” with another 95 year old woman, June Lockhart.
Even though she’s not all that old, I think of Ann-Margret as someone who, because her peak famous era has long since passed, she surely would be gone by now. But no, still going at 74 (only a couple of years older than my Mother, so I shouldn’t be all that surprised). In fact she appeared in a couple of episodes of Ray Donovan last year.
Monty Hall, 94, has still not been zonked.
Jake “Raging Bull” Lamotta, still swinging at 94.
Clearly, he made a deal with someone.
I saw Dr. Ruth Westheimer on The View this morning. Dr. Ruth, still alive? She’s 87 and still giving sex advice.
I just learned that Buffy Sainte-Marie is still alive and performing. I remember seeing her on Sesame Street when I was a little kid in the '70’s.
There are three former heads of state from World War II: King Michael of Romania, King Simeon of Bulgaria and Tenzin Gyatso, 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet. Bhumibol Adulyadej just misses, becoming King of Thailand on June 9, 1946 although he is still ruling, although not in good health.
Charles Osgood at 82 still sounds just like he did *On The Radio *when I was in high school in the 70’s. Doesn’t write a daily limerick or play piano regularly though… I miss that.
Someone not actually surprising (with his having been ongoingly in the public eye): but – naturalist / conservationist / film-maker David Attenborough; still going strong at 89, and still, seemingly, thoroughly together physically and mentally.
So far, he’s always been able to switch doors.
Children’s author Beverly Cleary alive at 95. I mean, I read the Ramona books in grade school.
Still alive until very very recently: Yogi Berra.
