Warning Issued
D
rDeth you’ve been told to knock this behavior off before. It’s deliberate, it’s disruptive, and it’s time for it to stop.
Everyone else, please drop the discussion of this behavior, as frustrating as it is. Next time, please just report it.*

Again, what is the warning for?

Is it for being annoying? That’s not against the rules, and you’d have to issue hundreds of warnings a day.

For being Pedantic? That’s not against the rules, and you’d have to issue hundreds of warnings a day.

For failure to follow a Mod’s instructions? Altho the previous mod note covers a post which is superficially similar, they are not the same at all. “using a past character’s name to refer to a role played by the same actor” is not the same *as getting a Real Life person mixed up with a role he once played. *

What you are doing is adding on to what I was Noted about- and that Note was a long time ago, and I stopped doing that. Read the Note, and you can see your warning is not for the same thing. You can’d just add on “not correct posters” and “an actor” to you note retroactively.

So, it’s *not *for any violations of the SDMB posted rules. It’s *not *for failure to follow instructions.

What, exactly is the warning for?

Thanks, but you’re not a Moderator, and no Moderator asked me to stop the behavior I was warned for.

I’m going to take a wild stab and say that the warning was for bring a jerk. This is, of course, subjective but the Modes get to make that call.

I didnt see the next to last line in Colibris last post. Thus, this thread is in error, and I have reported it myself.

When I want to speak to just a Moderator instead of starting a thread open to all that post, I usually send them an email or a Private Message.
Just sayin’.

You are aware that you can ask via PM, right? You were told specifically not to make another ATMB thread about this subject. Are you trying to get them to suspend your posting privileges?

I know what it’s like to get so upset that you’re not thinking straight. But it’s not good, dude.

Yes, it was a mistake on my part.:smack:

Note to self, dont post after taking your nightly Ambien.:stuck_out_tongue:

I humbly apologize. I was wrong here.

Does the mistake you are referring to mean starting this thread when told not to, or not understanding the thing you were warned about?

Did you miss this?

That seems pretty clear. Though it seems you think there is some light between using a past character’s name to refer to a new character (Adama for his Shield character) and using a past character for the actual actor (Kirk for Shatner). Just to head it off, there is no meaningful light between those two types of pedantic responses.

It has been answered, you just don’t like or agree with the reasons. Consequently, you were told here not to start another thread about this, so this is a warning for not listening to mod instruction. This is closed and I will suspend you–temporarily–myself, while your posting privileges are discussed if you start a third one.

Read the PM I have sent you.
