I would like to make it clear that I have only ONE sock puppet, and that is Freedom2.
I have quite an internal battle over this, as I can never really decide if the REAL sock puppet is Freedom2 or Gadarene.

I do wonder why some would doubt the motivation behind VoiceofReason’s posting any more than any other newbie on the board, though. IMHO it’s probable that any real lurker worth anything could easily have started posting in a pit thread, even if they planned on staying around for any length of time.
If you read Gadarene’s posts, and then you read mine, you can only begin to imagine the turmoil within this head of mine.
I actually have two computers to post with. One Marked GADARENE and one marked Freedom.
I’m a little pissed off that I always get the older computer. If she doesn’t watch it I’m going to switch those stickers and take her computer.
It is possible that NVMR is Gadarene’s sock puppet. It wouldn’t be the first time she snuck out and cheated on me without my knowledge.
Oh, yeah, fair point. People were callin’ me Gaudere pretty often the first month or so I was here. Serves me right for choosing a screen name which shared five letters, in the same order, with one of the most articulate posters around. Maybe I was hoping that some of that eloquence would rub off on me.
That was not what Stoid’s rural comment was saying, and even if it was the fact that you took that germ and made it cohesive and comprehensible doesn’t make it what was said (and it’s still wrong.)
I had been typing out a reply waaaaaaaaayyyy earlier in the day to xeno rebutting his points. I was having a blast pulling quotes from the different threads stoidela had been in, when all of a sudden the board turned into molasses. I couldn’t preview my posts, I couldn’t open up other pages or threads. I tried to post in mid-post and then come back later and finish it when things were faster.
But my thread never posted. And then the sock puppet thing happened(again). And then everybody got nice.
I’m completely defused now. Unfortunately the only person I got to flirt with was Gadarene:), but at least I got a semi-compliment from xeno.
Yeah, Stoidela even complimented my thread today. Sheesh. If I can’t find something to get pissed and self-righteous about soon I’ll have to just pretend.

Of course…my record is not exactly stellar.
They separate sweaty, vein-popping, furious partisans until sense and humanity resurface.
Of course they often get decked for their efforts, so praise all around to those who cooled off–and those who Fought Ignorance, imposed the cooling off and encouraged discussion instead of ranting.

Whatever your political views are, there’s no need to get smarmy with folks. For the record, I’m a lefty who voted for Gore and is disappointed that the Democrats as a whole aren’t further to the left, so this isn’t about disagreeing with your politics.
What does bother me is the tone you take with people. Referring to strangers (assuming you’ve never actually met anyone posting here) and thier arguements as “cute” and “darling” the way you did strikes me as condescending. Hey, I think Bush is so inept its scarry (the Reps really should’ve put McCain on the ticket instead), but there’s no need to get nasty with the people who voted for him.
I don’t know if you intend to mean “cute” in a complimentary way (my gut feeling is “no”) or if you don’t realize just how brazenly rude your post are, but please stop. You wouldn’t want folks to dismiss your issues as “darling” or some such thing, so please show others the same respect. Thank you.
