Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 8c/46f with a predicted high of 14c/56f and sunny. Weather app says “Is this the calm before the complete fucking shitstorm? Fucking probably.”

It’s the start of a busy week for me, lots of meetings, a conference and our office move. I’ll be glad when it’s all over. As for today, working at home and sloping off at lunchtime to do the grocery run, the dental hygienist this afternoon and Cycle Revolution at the gym later.

Good morning! I have no idea what y’all are talking about. But it doesn’t really matter, does it??
I’m going to try to participate and keep up this week. We’ll see how it goes. A couple of updates: insurance is ready to kick my mom out of the nursing home. We appealed and won, but I’m not sure how long of a reprieve we have. She has improved, but not enough to have a safe transition back home yet.
I am trying to keep my head on straight with everything going on with her and all the stuff we’re wanting to do to the house. We’ve decided to stay here and paint the exterior which it desperately needs. We’re also going to redo the upstairs bathroom so we have an actual shower, and add a stairlift and probably some painting of the stairs and hallway before this happens. And whatever else we need for my mom. Overall it’s quite a bit of stuff. And a large loan from the equity of our house.
And I seem to be stuck right around 100 pounds lost and don’t seem to be moving forward. I had hoped to get much closer to the 150 target so that I could have knee surgery over the summer.
Now, I feel I should add some good news. Well, I have a family that loves each other. I have a sweet, beautiful poodle currently snoozing on my lap. And, there are many hats to be found in this world!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 45 (BRR!) Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 76 and sunny. The big item on today’s agenda is men’s night over to the church house. We shall sloth about until it’s time to go over and setup.

I woke up furious at FCD because of a stoopit dream. Not going into the details (most of which I’ve forgotten) but the trigger was that he gave a $120 tip to a server who had given us attitude. Heck, even if he’d given such a tip to the best server in the world (it was more than 100%) I’d have been displeased. Now, were we bazillionaires, I think it’d be great fun to give huge tips to people in what I consider to be crappy jobs. (No offense to those in such jobs - I just know I’d hate it, so to me they’re crappy jobs.) Anyway, I hate waking angry because of dreams. Not a good way to start a day.
Cold is the word here - starting at 38 Ferrets, on the way to the mid-50s. Oh, and freezing tonight, so I need to remember to cover my veggie seedlings which have sprouted on the back porch. The pots are too heavy to move inside. Stoopit weather.
I’ve never had the desire to indulge in, well, any recreational substances. Part is because I’m such a goody-goody, part is because it could have cost me my career, but mostly there was nothing about it that appealed to me. Same with tobacco and alcohol. Yeah, I’ll have the very occasional adult beverage, but regular (or excessive) intake just doesn’t appeal. I truly don’t understand people who seem to require booze - I worry about one of my sisters, but she’s of age, so… Whatevs.
I think we’re going to work on boat plumbing today. Not sure how far we’ll get, tho, since the last faucet we ordered doesn’t come till later today. And dang are bathroom faucets $$$!! I saw one on Lowes’ site that was over $800!! For a freekin’ faucet?? And, no, it wasn’t gold-plated.
So begins my day. We shall see what the week brings.

As for famous birthdays on 20! April, well…
On a bus in Valencia, Spain heading back to the ship. Beautiful day, temp is about 26C and clear skies. Just finished a walking tour of the city, pretty interesting but didn’t get to climb 207 steps to get a panoramic view (a disappointment I can live with). On the back end, four more ports and one train trip and I’ll be ready to come home.
