My local NPR station carries The World in the afternoons. Today there was an interesting story about the origins and popularity of Mafia in Eastern Europe and the Far East including interviews with the Russian dude who invented the game.

Thanks again for posting the link. I listened to it just now and it was fun to hear the creator of the game. I was playing it in 1996, but I figured it went back a lot longer than 1986-87.

I haven’t played in person in over a decade, but immediately joined when I realized we played here and on Idle(and on giraffe).
