Straight Men, Intimacy and Porn

Now we have 20 minutes of pantomime flirting beforehand? We are all certainly entitled to our fantasies. You make your movie. I’ll watch the highlights reel.

I think it’s called a vagina.

Also, I want to give this example. Lets say you meet some girl, and start becoming friendly. Maybe get her number, whatever. You guys aren’t “a thing” yet, but it’s getting there. Basically when you first become interested in a girl, and you think she’s hot as hell, you’re going to jerk off to her while she’s still fresh on your mind. I know some idiots are going to say “ewwww!” but really, all guys do this.

Now in order to jerk off, you need to create this fantasy in your mind. Do you really just imagine that she falls out of the sky and onto your cock? Probably not. You need to create a realistic situation inside your mind. You need to cover key points, like going out on a date or whatever. Now obviously when you go over these “boring” parts you’re not really playing out the entire date in your mind. You’re just going through the motions. You have to create a realistic enough situation so that she actually ends up back at your place.

Why does this need to be done? It’s simple, you’re making love to your hand. You need to trick your brain into thinking that this is really happening.

Are you really a man?

You misspelled “hoo hoo”.

Yes. I completely take for granted the whole rope and trunk of my car bit.

Thats what I was thinking. I mean if you need to trick your brain while masterbating you are doing it wrong.

Do I have a penis? Yes. Do I like girls? Yes.

Do I think like most men? Probably not. However at least I’m honest with myself, and will admit what I want.

Most men are so completely delusional and insecure that they need other people to tell them what “sexy” is. Why is it that I find maybe 2% of all porn actresses attractive? Is there really something wrong with me, or is there something wrong with what people assume men want?

Well Senior, you have a unique way of introducing yourself to a new group of people…

ETA: If you stick around for a while and are not a raving loony you are going to regret that this was your first thread. You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

Also I think that I’ve always had a very overactive imagination. Even in elementary school, I was known to stair off into space for long periods of time. This was well before I was interested in girls or porn…

This is probably why most of you perceive me as crazy or whatever. I realized that I was going to get mocked coming in here, but I didn’t expect it to be this bad.

Hell, I’d watch your porn, Senior Smith. Sounds like it could be pretty hot, if it were done well. My only reservation is that you think the girls on Abby Winters are “too butch,” which makes me all

:dubious: And you believe this based on the fact that mainstream porn doesn’t appeal to you? Have you considered the possibility that mainstream porn simply conforms to mainstream tastes, even if they’re different than yours?

No, there’s something wrong with you. You kiss women’s stomachs for crying out loud!

I don’t think of you as crazy, unremarkable childhood reveries notwithstanding, but you are worthy of mockery.

But don’t let that inflate your ego, either. At least half the people who start Pit threads get mocked, by my none-too-careful accounting.

Anyway, you describe what turns YOU on. All mockery aside, why would you think anyone would be especially impressed by this or by, say, a detailed explanation of why blue is your favourite colour? We all (well, most of us) have fairly specific individual tastes in sexual fantasy (and colour) so if anything, it’s YOU who are being intolerant by failing to recognize this (and throwing in the oh-so-lovely and original comment that fans of a particular pair of radio personalities are “sheep”).

You’re not unique in liking lesbian porn (there is a sizable market for it, after all) and you’re not unique in finding a lot of the porn you’ve seen to not meet your personal preferences. Did you think this was an insight worthy of note? The only thing that could’ve salvaged this OP would be some entertaining wordplay. Better fuck next time.

You’re not getting mocked because you’ve got particular tastes that mainstream porn doesn’t meet.

You’re getting mocked because you believe that your taste is the mainstream taste, and pornographers are completely misreading mainstream taste.

If your thrust was, “I wish more porn was like what I want, which consists of a, b, and c, unlike the x, y, and z of today’s mainstream porn,” most people wouldn’t have mocked you, even if their tastes didn’t match yours.

I think the OP’s problem is that he’s going about this the wrong way. Essentially, he wants porn movies to be more like romantic comedies. I think a much more effective approach would be to make romantic comedies more like porn movies. Let’s have a deep throat scene in Nora Ephron’s next movie. If nothing else, it could give the audience some good tips on controlling their gag reflex long enough to make it through the rest of the film.

Senior Smith, I like the way you think. If you can get “College Lesbians Go To the State Fair and Then Fuck” made, do you think you could manage “Ewan McGregor Cleans Fluiddruid’s House, Bakes Her a Cake, Then An All-Night Sex Romp”? Because, frankly, I can’t seem to get my fantasies fulfilled in porn, either.

Wow, did I misread the title of this thread. I was expecting Bud Abbott and Dean Martin involved in something kinky.

I didn’t say all of them. Sorry if it came off that way. Also it’s possible we’re watching different videos. I had an account maybe two years ago. And yes there were quite a few girls that were too “manly” imho.

I don’t quite understand this pile on. I think my main points were that porn could use some build up, realism and intimacy. I honestly believe most men enjoy intimacy during sex, so why is it such a strange concept to want to see it in porn?

I know my writing style isn’t perfect, and I’ve always had a hard time getting my point across. But everything I’ve said here is what I honestly believe, and i was hoping we could have a serious discussion. If that’s not possible, then maybe this thread should just be closed.

Sex is about intimacy; porn is about getting off. They’re different things.

Was Dean Martin the straight man? I thought that was Dan Rowan.
