I know this isn’t actually ATMB, but figured it was the best place to post this.
For almost the past 24 hours, Straightdope.com has had a message saying that it is down for a database upgrade and will be back up soon. I would have expected an actual upgrade to be completed within 24 hours, so, what is actually going on? When do you expect the homepage to be back up?
There was an outage last night, but the Straightdope page has been working all day long for me. I wonder if it’s possible you’re having a browser cache problem?
It only lasted about 10 minutes for me.
Wow, that was actually it… I cleared my browser cache and it came right up! I was wondering why I didn’t see any posts about it, now I see because it was just me!

Wasn’t just you. I came on last night and I was still getting the upgrade message. I went to another board to see if anyone said anything about it, and found a link to a thread. I clicked on it and the thread came up. Clicked on the forum link and it came up. Clicked on my bookmark and got an error message. So I surmised I needed to clear cache, and that worked.
Indeed. Something happened that many of us have needed to clear out our caches to get it to work. Me too.
Or maybe it was this morning. So hard to tell before coffee, when I turn the computer on.
