Strange noises from the sky

Is this a worldwide hoax, or is there a basis in reality for the many Youtube videos that seem to reveal a loud noise coming from the sky with no explanation?

I’ll post a link to one, you can follow up on Youtube if you wish:

Yeah, I’m calling “hoax”. It would be trivially easy to coordinate something like this over some message board full of jokers.

What sounds?? I heard the camera-person breathing, maybe a bit of wind, and an assortment of ordinary urban noises.

Now that I dig a little bit deeper, it seems that most of the videos posted to Youtube are either using the same sound as in the movie “Red State” or a slowed-down version of the Mass Effect 3 Reaper sounds.

Global troll is global.

Sound like a re-hash of the “Sounds of the Apocalypse” meme. We had a thread on it a few months ago. Danged if I can find it now (which is made doubly embarrassing by the fact I posted in it and still can’t find it).

Funny how in all these videos, there’s not one other person outside looking around alarmed or bewildered. People just walk and drive on by, like…nothing’s actually happening.

I read this while at work earlier today, didn’t think much of it. I’m visiting my parents tonight in missouri and I hear this wierd noise! Pretty loud from above the cloud layer (pretty low and thick) going east to west like flying rather then coming out of no where… Wierd but it sounded like thin sheet metal being whipped back and forth only slightly higher pitched, a “wewewewewe” sound but not like a thump thump of a helicopter though it could have certainly been one ive never heard I suppose. Definitely a metallic sound. I immediately thought of this thread and decided to check it out and actually look at the youtube links. Doesnt sound the same, though I cant hear much of whats on the vids. First thing that came to my mind was scram jet, but ive never heard that either, so I wouldnt know. lol.

I just realized what it sounded like. It sounded like a metal tape measure pulled all the way out and being whipped up and down. I dunno. Anyone know of a plane that makes a sound like that?

That’s a pretty good description of a sound that a friend and I heard on a very foggy evening 30 years ago. Whatever it was, it was flying very low.

At the time I lived near a Naval Base, and I always suspected that it was an experimental aircraft.

That’s all I got.
