Strange print problem with Mac OS X

Hi guys;

Having a strange printing issue here. The computer is a PowerPC G4 Mac Mini running 10.3.9. The printer is a HP LaserJet P2015dn. The printer was recently set up by our IT people and we should have the right drivers and all that.

  1. When printing some (not all) PDFs from Preview, part of the page will print just fine whereas part (typically the right-hand half) will be stretched waaaay oouuuut so that the rightmost 1/4 or so of the page doesn’t make it onto the paper. The files look fine in “print preview” mode and print normally with other computer/printer combos. Reducing the print size usually does not help.

  2. When printing some (not all) spreadsheets from MS Excel, graphs (but not text) get mucked up with bits shifted relative to other bits of the same graph. Again, the files look fine in “print preview” mode and print normally with other computer/printer combos. Reducing the print size usually fixes the problem.

This is wasting a lot of paper and driving me nuts. I’m hoping it’s something I can fix without calling the (overworked, overbooked, harassed and frazzled) IT staff. I can’t seem to find anything relevant out there with Google. Any suggestions?
