Streakers, streaking and other Superbowl nudity

Is a “streaker” really a streaker if he is wearing a cod piece or jock strap or whatever this is that Mark Roberts wore?

Where you offended by either Mark Roberts or Jackson and Timberlakes “accident”?

I realize this is probably evidence of some sort of double standard, but I was not offended by the antics of Mark Roberts and even thought it chuckle worthy. I as appalled at the Jackson/Timberlake “accident” because it did not appear to be an accident to me at the time and I thought it inappropriate. (Having never seen MTV I did not realize that it was fairly typical music video type exposure as I learned in the media hype following the event.) For the record, I was watching the game in a two family setting where other than the myself and another mom, the rest of the viewers were males, teenagers or older.

This is what prompted my curiosity:

Superbowl streaker must pay fine, but no jail

Would it kill this guy to do some crunches or something?

You’ve lost me. Obviously Mark Roberts wasn’t a accident either so what makes it more or less approprait?

It’s interesting the first article seems to be appalled at the harsh sentence…at the hands of vindictive feminists  ? and the other on points out it could have been a lot stiffer. Er, the sentence that is.

I love this quote “If I have to go to jail for my belief, then I’ll go to jail.” Ah, yes, the poor persecuted, misunderstood soul :stuck_out_tongue: .

(I wasn’t offended by either, beyond the fact that I don’t particular want to see either one of them naked.)

I was offended by the fact that Janet Jackson got a whole bunch of publicity and hype from it. I wasn’t even watching at that point, because I got bored out of my mind by the people before them, as I recall. I remember thinking before the half-time show started "Wait… Janet Jackson??? Didn’t her career kind of… end about a year ago? But then, wow look at that, a few weeks later, there she is on SNL, and probably several other places, but I don’t watch much TV. I’m sure they chose her to be on that night because she’s just such a good actress. :dubious: By the way, why didn’t Justin Timberlake’s name show up nearly as much as hers? I never heard it called the “Justin Timberlake superbowl scandal”

So basically, I wasn’t offended by the event itself, but the fact that it made her popular again for another 5 minutes of fame or so.

The only thing that made Roberts’ stunt interesting was when that Patriots linebacker clocked him.
