Street Scenes

There used to be a small column in the Atlanta newspaper called “Street Scenes”. It offered a couple of vignettes every day, ususally humorous, of things seen on the Atlanta streets. Here’s my edition for today:

Seen in a Metro McDonald’s parking lot: A late model sedan with magnetic advertising signs on the sides. The signs boldly proclaimed “Live healthy with MDM!”. The car was parked in a handicapped space.

What have you seen lately?

GOT WOOD?

A sign at the curve of Bowman Road, 20 feet in the air.

It’s above a cord here the guy is selling firewood.

Yellow diamond warning sign saying “POTHOLE AHEAD”. Been there for years. So has the pothole.

I don’t get it.

There’s an electronics place here with a van parked out front advertising “SPEAKER BLOWOUT!” I always wonder how long it’s going to take him to unload all those blown-out speakers. (Maybe he should team up with someone advertising “TIRE BLOWOUT!”)
