And here, in a nutshell, is what’s got this poster so up in arms about Hillary Clinton, and about the Democrats in general. Any statement, any implication, even any fleeting thought to the effect of “maybe white males aren’t the most important people in the USA” is seen as the left waging “demographic warfare” on them.
Any candidate who’s not a white male is, by his or her very nature, waging demographic warfare - those candidates are trying to usurp power they have no claim to. Any white male candidate who expresses concern for or interest in other demographics is going to be seen as “pandering” (if the right isn’t too concerned about them being serious); if that white male is viewed as serious, then he’ll be accused of demographic warfare too.
I’m trying to figure out what this means. Is “dog whistle” a swear word? Does the thing it describes no longer happen, or are we just supposed to go back to pretending it doesn’t happen? Or can we point it out as long as we use an acceptable term? What would be a better word to use?
Or is it your position that it never happened, but there was a brief vogue for pretending it did?
I haven’t heard anyone in Spain complaining about their leaders recently.
Also, anyone expressing concern for the poor is waging class warfare. Jesus? Just pandering to the poor with his big government feet washing and class warfare.
I know you think this is insightful, but the real message is that you’re the kind of asshole who goes around throwing rocks at people. The idea that pissing someone off is proof that you’re right is a blatantly stupid message, has nothing to do with human behavior; what we know about humans is that humans get mad when someone is being an asshole.
That’s his schtick. He finds things to get butthurt about and then comes running here to the Pit to tell everyone else about his butthurtedness desperately hoping others will get all butthurt and validate his fragile little feelings. It’s kind of sad really.
I don’t know how Stringbean compares with the other right-wing assholes around here, but I find them all odious. They seethe on and on about trivia and their own blind prejudices, and can’t quite acknowledge that their own party has been turned over to morons, lunatics and hypocrites. Stringbean is upset that an ad showing white men doesn’t show white men. :smack: I think he miswrote – what he meant was that the ad doesn’t show his side’s key demographic: stupid angry white men.
Here’s a post that caught my eye:
Two points, idiot. (1) Bin Laden was hiding in plain sight for years. If G.W. Bush couldn’t take him out, then G.W. Bush is less than a monkey. And speaking of monkey, (2) comparing blacks to monkeys is racist. Oh I hear ya: “Blah blah blah. If it’s politically incorrect to compare blacks to monkeys, then we’re not really in a post-racial society.” “Duh!”
Regarding whether George W. Bush was enough of a monkey to take out Bin Laden, let’s examine his own words:
The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him. [13 Sept 2001]
I don’t know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don’t care. It’s not that important. It’s not our priority. [13 March 2002]
TL;DR summary: Pit Stringbean or don’t – it’s all the same to me. At this point anyone considering a GOP vote at the national level seems like just another useless sub-human to me, worthy of comment only to relieve boredom.
You’ve just described the purpose of having the Pit altogether. You get offended, you come here to tell everyone else about the offensive thing the other person did, and then everyone either agrees with you and attacks them or attacks you for being too easily offended.
Seeing as everyone else agrees with the OP, he was not too easily offended.
If you’d prefer, I’m sure there are people here who would be happy instead to discuss your schtick, and its relative degree of sadness. Just say the word.
If you make a list of American politicians most likely to be lizard people then Hillary would probably crack the top 5. There’s a lot of competition though.
As for “demographic fairy tales,” I assume he means showing minorities operating businesses and living in social harmony instead of slinging on the street corner or collecting trash on the side of the highway in an orange jumpsuit. I’m not sure why he doesn’t want to address that and other questions. There’s no point in being “the controversial poster” who drops the hard truths if you retreat to platitudes as soon as you’re confronted. Don’t be a puss about it.
Even a twisted sneering ideologue living in a churning bubble of misinformation and delusion can only manage a finite amount of rage. You have to take a breather and comb your luxurious mullet every once in awhile.
On the contrary, unless you’re even more off-topic than normal, you’re the one who thinks people are the same as dogs. Remember, we’re talking about your shitty analogy, not mine.
