Stuff you can't wait to come out on DVD

Amazon.com in the US has a May 24, 2005 release for Newsradio.

My husband wants Quincy on DVD, but I’ve had to remind him that when he watched his beloved McGuyver on TV Land, he wondered what he saw in that show.

I’ll second Undeclared, but I’m not holding my breath.

I’ve seen a DVD for Police Squad! advertised on one site, but I suspect it’s a bootleg. The lack of any sort of publisher information sets my spidey-sense tingling…

Has anyone mentioned Now and Again yet? Because that really needs to be on DVD. And there should have been at least a second season, too. (And third, and fourth, etc.)

OK, this is going on my ‘must have’ list. I didn’t know anyone else in the world remembered it (let alone The Devil and Daniel Mouse).

This is what I have. I found it at a Fry’s for $10. It appears to be a legit copy.

Ultraman

**The Gong Show ** (maybe a “best of” set), **Police Squad! **, even more Dave Allen clips (although I haven’t bought the “best of” compilation that’s out now, but one disc would never be enough), and a very cheesy sci-fi/drama TV movie from around 1980 called Goliath Awaits, starring a young Mark Harmon.

Also, **Hill Street Blues ** – the complete run.

Nightflight.

Another Vote for:

**Brisco County Jr.(**I just discovered this show, and it kicks ass. Bruce Campbell could read the phone book and it would be fun to watch. WHAT THE HELL IS TAKING YOU SO LONG, FOX?)

Black Books. (I’ve fallen in love with this show since they’ve started showing it on BBC America, and I can’t wait to see Season 2 now).

When are they going to release the new Battlestar Galactica on DVD? Hopefully just before Season 2 starts this summer…

I’ve been waiting a long time for two of my favorite movies to be released on DVD:

Metropolitan

Das Schreckliche Mädchen – a quick search tells me this was finally released in “DVD 9” format in February 2005. Now I have to find out if “DVD 9” will play on my USA-only player.

The Phil Silvers Show. I’d sell a kidney for this, but of course I felt the same way about Space 1999 until I actually watched them again…

I was just reading BJ Hiorns’s comic strip Jackie’s Fridge, when I saw the following:

I’ve only read the comic book, so I also can not wait to see it.

I’d love to have The Pirates of Dark Water. There was a Conan the Barbarian cartoon
that would be neat to have as well.

A DVD 9 should play on your USA-only player. I think you’re confusing that with other-region coding. The recent release of The Nasty Girl (its USA title) is a region two release so unless you have a multi-region player (they’re cheap!), you’re out of luck. Sorry.

Titles I want on DVD:

Voyager
The Reflecting Skin
Children of Nature
Before the Rain

Most of my wants have thankfully been released here or elsewhere.

Thundarr the Barbarian
The Isis and Captain Marvel Hour
Jason of Star Command
Space Academy
Never Cry Wolf

Danger Mouse is coming out May 31.
