Stupid Democratic Idea of the Day

No, I’m fully aware of that. My point, however is that they made record profits despite some increased regulation on offshore drilling. So oil companies have the ability and money to hire additional workers if they chose to do so. So it’s incumbent upon Clothahump to prove that opening up offshore drilling would literally quadruple the number of extraction jobs in existence when access to offshore drilling hasn’t done crap in terms of employment numbers before 2010.

Found another one: Mississippi State Rep. D Stephen Holland (D- Umbass) has introduced a bill to

Yep, if this guy gets his way the Gulf of Mexico is going to be called the “Gulf of America”, at least in Mississippi.

Keep it up, Dems - we’ve got a lot of catching up to do!

It was a joke. Not a very good one, mind you, and still perhaps stupid, but hardly worth chortling over in “look at the silly Democrats!” glee.

What’s next? Quoting something out of The Onion as real?

Dammit, Democrats! We need more overt stupidity!

I’m really trying here, but thus far all I’ve got is Weinergate.

Which, admittedly, is enough stupid for several threads.

It’s Mississippi. I make no apologies for our rush to judgment.

I think I have a mancrush.

Hey, what’s a few felonies between friends?

As always, the comments in these things are gold.

“Weasel De Weese is a primary candidate for an obummer appointment to any of his Nazi agencies.”

“Obummer”. Who says these guys have no sense of humor?

Wasn’t much -gate action going on in there. Then again, as I understand it, there was a whole lot of Weiner.

While he certainly qualifies as a stupid Democrat, I’m not sure this situation qualifies as a stupid Democratic idea.

Baby steps. At least we got Clothy to post a link to an actual Democrat behaving stupid.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Bite me.

Here’s another:

Obama is buttfucking the corpse of the US Constitution.

Today, the Idiot-In-Chief announced that he’s backpedaling on the contraception issue. His solution: “Capping weeks of growing controversy, Obama announced he was backing off a newly announced requirement for religious employers to provide free birth control coverage even if it runs counter to their religious beliefs. Instead, workers at such institutions will be able to get free contraception directly from health insurance companies.”

Here’s the most telling point of this entire matter: “Officials said Obama has the legal authority to order insurance companies to provide free contraception coverage directly to workers. He will demand it in a new rule.”

NO, GODDAMMIT - HE DOES NOT!!!

The President has NO Constitutional authority whatsoever to order a private business to provide goods or services to anyone free of charge. And it won’t be free - they will have to raise their premiums to everyone else to subsidize this latest piece of socialist idiocy.

(quotes from http://old.news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20120210/ap_on_go_pr_wh/us_birth_control_politics)

What is more likely: A constitutional scholar and his administration are wrong, or you, a simpering man-child who has traded reason for rage, and blindly believes anything right-wing radio tells him is wrong?

I’m going with the latter.

Well gosh, if you’ve conceded the death of our Constitution, then I guess everything is fair game, isn’t it?

I can see why the Catholic employers are freaking out, but is it really a religious freedom issue? The employees are free to avail themselves of contraception or not, so that’s where the freedom is, and where it should be. If it wasn’t paid for by insurance, it would be covered by the employee’s salaries, also from the the Catholic employer. I assume it would be illegal for the employer to fire an employee for using contraception.

Higher premiums? That would only be true if the medical costs associated with large families were lower than the costs associated with contraception.

How tall is the Constitution? I’m not sure that’s physically possible, but once I empty the roll of paper towels I can model it to be sure. Has anyone paid attention to the sound that removing paper towels from the holder makes when the cardboard tube is a bit flattened? It’s got a sort of rhythmic nature to it, almost like slapping flesh.

Don’t assume. I remember when I was in high school (Catholic, 1986), a teacher was fired for divorcing his wife. The law may have changed since, though, as the “treat your adjunct facilities’ employees like secular businesses do” movement is fairly recent.

Democrat congressman: We’ve proved that communism works

I won’t try to tar all Democrats with this brush. Such dumbness is beyond party.

Or you could read the whole quote instead of taking it out of context like the Daily Caller. The only dumb idea there was in his naively giving his political opponents a nice out of context sound bite for the next election cycle.
