Stupid Islam News of the Day

This was a tour de force. Bravo.

When Islam started being the most sacred thing to liberals is when I stopped identifying as one. Although all my viewpoints are typically liberal this one baffles me to no end.
I don’t care though as I don’t live anywhere where this has an effect, it’s just amusing reading these liberal circlejerks on these boards.

Apparently you are unable to distinguish “refusing to condemn the worlds’ second largest religion for the actions of a tiny minority” and “being the most sacred thing to liberals”. Sad.

You mean like when liberals refuse to distinguish between having a discussion about bronze-age ideology that some people stand behind to justify heinous acts and “ouright racism omg!”? Yeah, sad indeed.

A Bronze age ideology? What does the early Jewish religion have to do with the discussion?

It’s more like refusing to blame a religion for the actions of some people who pretend to follow it.

Mohammed was born 570 CE.

Yeah, there was no point in even bringing it up, I hear the same stuff over and over and it’s not amusing. Enjoy fighting the good fight. Cya, ta!

No, don’t go… please continue with straw-manning and gibberish. I’m sure it will begin to make sense one of these days.

Nah I’m cool. Continue with your circlejerk and recipe sharing.

I hope you could follow my ice recipe.

Translation:

My cohort called me on my latent racism, and since my racist feelings are more important to me than the other things we agree upon, I’m going to call my old friends doody-heads and am quitting their club. Imma gonna go be racist in my corner all alone, who needs you guys anyways!

Thanks, and in return, a blessing: May the sweet baby Jesus shut your mouth and open your mind. Amen.

I enlisted right out of high school. Have you?

He didn’t, because he’s a coward. He’s also a bigot and a liar.

typical liberal; when you can’t actually find any racism, you go to “latent racism,” “dog whistle,” etc. That’s basically the MO of the Democrat Party today, in a nutshell.

If you did it for free stuff, its kind of hard to just assume patriotism on your part. If you did it to defeat evil doers, then we can talk. All assuming you actually did it, rather than just saying you did behind a screen to weaken my argument.

too iiandyiiii, you constantly accuse me of strawmanning; all one needs to do to see that I don’t strawman is go to the major liberal blogs, like Daily Kos, Democrat Underground, search around a lil, and you can see my pointing out liberals’ ideas is truth.

I don’t know if you’re racist, but you’re openly bigoted, and you’ve never bothered to try and dispute that. Calling entire groups of people who have never harmed you “repulsive” and “disgusting” is bigoted. If you don’t want to be called bigoted, try not being bigoted, and apologize for the things you’ve said in the past that were bigoted.

So now you’re maligning the patriotism of people who actually signed up to serve, unlike you, because you don’t like their motives? God what a pathetic, gutless coward you are. And a bigot. And a liar.

It’s good you didn’t sign up – gutless cowards and bigots don’t belong in my Navy, or my military. Better for you, and better for the military, that you keep your gutless cowardice at home.

No, you constantly mischaracterize, misattribute, and otherwise get wrong what real world liberals do. Hint – nuance is involved. The real world is complicated. Trying to sum up complicated things in a couple of sentences is usually going to be wrong, and you do this constantly.

I knew any number of men who enlisted to support truth, justice, and the American way. I met them at protest meetings, after they were relieved of their illusions.

Nonsense. Patriotism is just an excuse to ignore who’s right or wrong in favor of who’s part of the same tribe.

Says the person who values affinity over morality.

That’s one type of patriotism – another is the type that loves their country and wants to make it a better place for everyone, and is willing to criticize when appropriate.

You’re just criticizing blind patriotism.
