In a way, I was carrying on a family tradition. Great-grandfather took part in Sherman’s March to the Sea, father and uncle were in the Navy for WWII, eldest sister and eldest brother are Vietnam-era vets but were never in-country.
??
I’m not even sure what you’re accusing me of. I’m saying that if all it took for the liberal Phantom Limb to choose to be “not a liberal” is an imaginary idea that Islam is the “most sacred thing” to liberals, then maybe, just maybe, he’s got a little bit of a hard on against Islam. “I am for positive government solutions, broad social safety nets, generally resistant to excessive warring, government attempts at protections around gender, race, class, and creed, and maybe government intervening in our broken health care system. But wait, when I call Islam a religion of hate people fight me on this? When did Islam become the most sacred part of being a liberal? If that’s the way this is going to go, I’m giving up on all that other stuff, because if I can’t call terrorism “Muslim Terrorism,” then who gives a shit about the rest of that crap!?”
But you keep on doing you, Derek. And invite me to this “Democrat Party” you keep going on and on about; sounds like a blast.
Did you want to see them crawl across the floor to you? Did you want to hear them beg you to take them back?
How are you patriotic? You’re against freedom of religion if that religion is Islam. I don’t think you’ve realized that you can’t judge the collective of ANY group by the actions of a few.
That right there is …lovely. DID you enlist at all, for free stuff or to fight evildoers? Have you ut your actual life on the life in service of our country?

…aaaand off you fuck.
Ah, these conversations are always fun:
Person A: “All Muslims are terrorists!”
Person B: “Not all Muslims are terrorists; in fact, most aren’t.”
Person A: “You don’t think any Muslims are terrorists! That proves how crazy you are and how right I am!”
Person B: :smack:
At long last.
Derek had more than qualified for a spot on my exclusive ignore list, but the exercise was pointless while others insisted on helpfully reminding him that he was a hateful bigoted hatebigot every ten fuckin’ minutes.
Obvious hatebigot had a short memory.
(See what I did there?)
I love how this clown claims to be a patriot, then when confronted by people who have actually enlisted he demands that they pass his own little screening criteria before he’ll deign to talk to them. It’s all very well and good to have answered the call to serve your country, but it takes a real patriot to question the motives of those who do.
So, mister “patriot”, do you pull that shit on Veterans day? Ask the veterans what their motives were before you let them into your little patriot’s club?
Scratch that. I don’t love it. I hate it.
Derek, you’re a real piece of work.
This is for you,Derek.
