And “Algore”? Seriously? “Algore”?
You have to say it quick otherwise the drool spills out.
[big Al Gore :sigh:]
There is what iiandyiiii pointed out, even Adaher get is partially right, the science does not change because of who supports it. And this is not hogwash, as pointed before to you religion is in part a big driver of why the deniers of the science are at it. And it is no coincidence that the few scientists that are on the denier side are virtually all conservative or Republican.
One of the few ones remaining is (retired) Roy Spencer, like many of the ones that throw bones to the deniers has a knack of getting it wrong, but deniers still lap up his bullshit. He is so clueless that he has no respect and he ended up, besides being a contributor to denier sites, “publishing” on religious creationist sites like Answersingenesis.org
What I observed before stands Clothahump, you are blind to the fact that the blind are leading you.
In this subject the important thing is to see what the few conservative scientists (many polls do show that the higher the science level goes a scientist is less likely to be religious or Republican) that are experts on this are telling us.
Richard Alley and Kerry Emmanuel have been called to testify at congressional hearings, they support the consensus but they were invited by the democrats to testify not the Republicans, the reason was clear: it was a dramatic demonstration that whoever made this issue a political litmus test did so in the most assholish and trolling ways.
I will let conservative and still Republican* Barry Brickmore, a scientist from BYU, to comment about what most Republican scientists think about Al Gore:
BTW, it was the non-scientist Christopher Monkton the one that was invited by the Republicans to testify in congress**.
- Not sure about Richard Alley, but Kerry Emmanuel became an independent, it is very hard to remain a Republican when the leaders are ignoring the science and the Republican peanut gallery send threatening notes to you and your family. **Now that is the real stupid idea and clearly there are mostly the Republicans doing it following the lead of the stupid and blind conservative media.
**
** To spread bullshit actually.
A very large number of disgruntled soldiers from the old Iraqi Army, rejected by anti-Sunni government, have joined ISIS (their enemy’s enemy) out of desperation. What would be a stupid idea is to refuse to negotiate with them.
It must be one of the standard tricks they teach in conservative school. Purposefully misspell the name of your opponent to annoy him, then when he calls you out on it, laugh at him because he is being so petty. Something something then you win the debate
Pretty sure that moment of satiric genius originated with Rush Limbaugh.
Amazingly enough, you are correct.
And the science is that the sun causes heating/warming cycles on Earth and has done so since the planet was formed and will continue to do so for a long time to come. The bullshit, which Gore spewed and people believed, is that humans are causing the cycles.
LOL @ you calling me blind. You “observe” only what you want to see. And you see me, a conservative, point out classic liberal stupidity and all you can do is whine about it and call me blind or stupid. Ghods, you people are sooo frickin’ predictable.
Can someone help me out with this one? I know it’s some kind of playground insult, as I only see it from cretins like Clothahump, but I haven’t been able to aim low enough to get the “joke.” (And this is me we’re talking about…)
It is discussed (but barely explained (I still don’t completely get it)) in this thread. I point you to my previous analysis:
Actually, the science is that there are a variety of factors that contribute to temperature cycles, including the amount of energy reaching the earth from the sun (from changes in orbit, and changes in the sun’s output), the reflectivity of the earth’s atmosphere, and the amount of heat retained by the earth (so-called greenhouse effect).
The science also shows, very clearly, that solar output has been remarkably consistent since the middle of the twentieth century, that the greenhouse effect has been significantly enhanced by human-created gasses, and that recent, short-run rises in global average temperatures are caused largely by human activity.
The scientists are not saying that the natural cycles don’t exist. They argue, based on massive amounts of evidence, that humans have exacerbated the natural cycles, and that we have made a significant separate contribution to global warming.
And if you’re going to spout off on what “the science is,” you need to have the integrity and the intelligence to admit that the scientific evidence for anthropogenic global warming is overwhelming. This is not something that the vast majority of scientists even believe is controversial. Denying it is almost as stupid as denying the existence of gravity, although you i must admit that you would not surprise me very much if you did that too.
So, according to Clothahump, liberals only observe what they want to observe … and yet it is conservatives like him who choose to ignore the overwhelming majority of the scientific community all because the unfortunate result of science’s conclusions might mean a Koch brother or two might take a hit on their stock returns.
And he calls liberals predictable. Here’s my next prediction for him: a plethora of “LOLs” and accusations of whining, in the most irritating, whiny posting style possible. Who wants action?
Did you happen to catch the title of this thread before you posted your so-called “classic liberal stupidity”, stupid blind dude? Over at the companion “Stupid Republican Idea of the day” thread they have no problem coming up with multiple current Republican gaffes, while you dig up a decades old(and already covered multiple times) story. I just can’t wait for your Kennedy “Bay of Pigs” expose-I bet it’s gonna be a doozy!
Thank heaven we have ex-cop martial arts instructors around to explain science to us.
Pretty much no one, except certain politicians and right-wing media pundits, seriously contend that human activities have nothing to do with climate change. This has been argued to death in this forum and you have no excuse for claiming otherwise.
I would say people do this because of your lengthy, documented history of getting facts hilariously wrong, your blind hostility on the frequent occasions when this is brought to your attention, and your utter inability to ever admit you might be wrong about something.
Damned if I didn’t ask the same question then. Ah, memories. And losing them.
Well, you have to give him that one. Gravity has a well-known liberal bias.
I nominate Diversity Training for stupid liberal idea of the day (Rotherham Whistleblower ‘Sent On Diversity Training For Saying Most Abusers Were Asian’)
I’m not up on the politics over there, so I’m not sure if this was a “Liberal” thing, or a “cover up an ongoing major problem” thing, considering that files were disappeared and authorities were called in to investigate.
Isn’t Algore supposed to be a reference to Dr. Frankenstein’s hunchback sidekick? Or Dr. Fronkensteen’s Eyegore?
You’re a fucking moron, you know that? How the fuck can anyone be this pig-ignorant and still so goddamn arrogant? Buddy, you of all people have no business saying “and the science is” or “the science says” about anything, because the list of things you actually know anything about is so limited as to be virtually non-existent.
Christ, you can’t even misrepresent science correctly. No, nobody believes that the cycles are caused by humans. I don’t even fucking know what claim you’re perverting here.
Has Clothy ever posted a SLIOTD that was, yanno, actually a stupid liberal idea? It’s always either not liberal or not stupid. Usually he’s the stupid one.
While I’ll gladly say this counts, it does nothing to alleviate the fact that Clothy is still something like 0:100.

I believe the general consensus is that he managed one. One.
Hey. 2 for 100. The man’s on a roll.
