Stupid liberal idea of the day

What did I lie about? Cite?

Specifically it was a columnists link that was blocked w/o subscription, and several folks pointed out that it tossed you to the main page of the Tribune, so access was certainly possible.

You are just very bad at this.

Post #2764 is a gross misrepresentation of the study. In short, a lie, albeit one you are merely repeating from another liar. mhendo’s response to that pretty much proves it was a lie if the previous posts hadn’t done so already.

No, you and your ilk are very bad at this. There was no blockage. I don’t have a subscription, and I accessed the column at least four times.

Oh wait, now it’s five times.

Jerks.

After all the cites you’ve already been given, we’re about three posts shy of starting a “Stupid D’Anconia idea of the day” thread.

I just clicked on your link, jerk, and got this message:

Not that anyone here at all harbors any doubts about this lying little bitch, but my experience with that link was the same as Snowboader Bo:

http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=17846732&postcount=2715

I could see the title and byline and could scroll down about a paragraph or so, and then the text was covered by the popup that Snowboader Bo described.

The Trib website lies behind a paywall. I’m very happy that you can see the article in question. I cannot. Would you like a screenshot, or will you call me a liar even then?

I still get a paywall for this one. I cannot access it without registering. Don’t know if it’s a different browser or what, but this is definitely not a made-up paywall.

FTR, this year they are endorsing Bruce Rauner, a wealthy conservative, over Pat “Universally Despised” Quinn.

fMRI is an imaging technique that shows the response of the brain to various stimuli by measuring blood flow. I have no idea how much the equipment would cost to run an fMRI but I doubt the research group had to pick up the tab for the equipment itself. There might be a cost to the group and I guarantee at least part of the grant went to institutional overhead (which is something that pisses me off a lot more than some of the piddly amounts we’re talking about here.) In my experience, funding agencies are very insistent that anything that could possibly be linked to their funding be included in any publications. I’ve seen grants be mentioned because the grant money paid for equipment that was bought for a different group but was used as a one-off for the research that was published. Something that low in the list could easily be shared equipment or time.

WTF?

Liar, liar, panties on fire:

I’m very sorry you can’t use the internet. I don’t have a subscription and yet, I can access the column.

What the fuck is your problem with this?

Yep, that’s what I get.

Which part is confusing to you, allergies, children, pumpkins or the color teal?

No you can’t. You’re making it all up. You have no cite.

Someone did note that if you had java off the pop-up didn’t h as open. But most folks tend to not do that.

And no, running your browser with JavaScript off does not make you “hardcore”.

No kid wants stickers, pencils, or flashcards for Halloween.

If this alleged “food allergy” is such a problem, then why wasn’t it one in the 1970’s? The human race does not evolve that quickly, that it would suddenly be a problem in 2010, but not then.
