That is a really good one.
As I’ve mentioned before, I think the premise behind this thread is a really good idea.
Point out supposed liberals who are giving the rest of us a bad name because they are obviously dumbasses.
It’s called internal housekeeping. Republicans should try it sometime, and I don’t mean throw out all the moderates.
I’d say about 80% of the time a liberal says something stupid it’s because the political correctness circuits have gone haywire.
That reminds me of a scene from an old Eddie Murphy movie where he and his friends are discussing the racist overtones of pool (billiards).
If David Zirin had really made the argument that Carroll’s play-calling was a result of racism and an anti-Marshawn Lynch conspiracy, it would indeed be really fucking dumb.
But you know what else is really dumb? Relying on a 42-second Yahoo/Daily Caller video to provide an accurate summary of Zirin’s article. I challenge anyone to read that article and conclude that Zirin actually believes and supports the idea that Pete Carroll made that play call because of racism or an anti-Marshawn Lynch policy.
Zirin reports what the conspiracy theory is, explains that it comes from people inside the Seahawks’ locker room, and also says that it has been reported by other news outlets. He concludes the story:
Interesting. What’s your excuse?
And 76% of those times, the original point of view is being misconstrued or caricatured.
97% of the time, the statistics are made up on the spot.
The Stupid is incredibly strong with this one. I would mark it on the Another Obama Fuckup Wall, but there isn’t any room left.
Gosh Clothy, we had such high hopes you were finally catching on to the difference between stupid and “things that make me mad”.
Cite?
Are you objecting because you have some sort of well-thought out rationale that you accidently left out of your post, or simply because Obama?
My money’s on the latter…
Clothy?! A rationale?!
Really?
Over/under on, if forced to answer, we read something like “The pipeline reduces our reliance on foreign oil”?
CMC fnord!
There really ought to be a word for “foreign, but not foreign foreign, like controlled by brown people.” I bet it would save entire pages in GOP manifestos.
Maybe he’s just mad about those 35 jobs it would have created.
Well, c’mon, we do all have to admit that continuing reliance on petroleum is a no-brainer, right?
from Clothahump’s link,
“Keystone jobs bill”??
Do you know that once it’s constructed, Keystone would have 35 permanent jobs?
No, you didn’t know that. Because you RW media has deluded you into believing nonsense.
Well I’ve always said there would be plenty of jobs for lawyers to litigate over oil spills. Can’t forget those in the equation.
