Stupid liberal idea of the day

“By Grammar’s Hammer, you shall be avenged!”

Turns highly motivated rock monster loose

“By Grammar’s Hammer… what savings.” [unenthusiastically cuts ribbon]

“miners”, not “minors”

Gram’ma never used a hammer, she did just fine with her rolling pin.

Raven-Symoné says she’ll move to Canada if any Republican is nominated for President. My condolences, Canada.

But of course.

Holy shit I thought only Republicans had a poor grasp of how the political system works.

I think we know what she means, and I think that like other celebrities she’ll relent when she is told by her accountant that her finances will be better if she stays here. Raven’s got better things to do with her money than pay for Canadian citizens’ health care.

Cite?

That’s so…stupid.

But she’d probably pay less for her healthcare in Canada than she does now.

But she’d have to get in line in Canada. Celebrities do not wait in line!

It’s a shame there’s no thread for “Stupid C-list celebrity–who, admittedly, is probably liberal, but we’re perfectly willing to include various Baldwins, like Stephen and Adam (who, while not related, are certainly both batshit), and obviously anyone in a Duck Dynasty, and hell, probably Bruno and Dirty Harry even though they’re not C-listers, but dammit NOT Alice Cooper because even though he’s certainly not liberal he’s still a goddamn national treasure–idea of the day.”
.

As has been all over the news this morning, Hillary Clinton happened to be sharing the stage with NY mayor Bill de Blasio at the annual Inner Circle Roast when he delivered the following comedic gem:
This year Leslie Odom Jr., who is black and plays Aaron Burr in the hit Broadway show “Hamilton,” participated in the skit in which Clinton kidded de Blasio about his delay in endorsing her bid for the White House.

“Sorry, Hillary, I was running on C.P. Time,” de Blasio said, referring to the phrase “colored people time” used to indicate chronic lateness.

“I don’t like jokes like that,” Odom said.

Clinton then added: “‘Cautious politician time.’ I’ve been there.”
Clunk. And that was not the sound of people laughing their heads off.

Well, maybe the Stupid Non-partisan Idea of the day has to do with the notion of career politicians taking away the jobs of good, hardworking American comedians.

Written out, it’s almost cute. A little. But Hil, ghod bless her, just can’t tell a joke. Smigel, Emo Philips, and Al Franken could write her material and she’d still tank it.
.

Mild and not so much of a stupid idea, as it is poor execution. But since this thread needs all the help it can get.

The DNC’s Equal Pay Day plan turns sour

Even with good delivery - and even if it weren’t trading on negative racial stereotypes - that’s an awful joke. Is “C.P. time” a phrase people even use?

And you’ve reminded me of one more thing I’ll miss about Obama. The White House Correspondents Dinners are going to suck once he’s gone, no matter who wins.

ISTM, that in order to really make their point, the men should have been charged less.

It’s certainly not one I ever heard before.

Yes. But it’s not a phrase non-black people are supposed to use.
