I knew someone who got a 1600 (and, @carrps, I don’t think that’s the perfect score anymore, but who pays attention). My recollection is that he often wore 3-piece suits to school.
One of my friends got a 1600 score back when it was “perfect.” His older brother skipped his senior year in h.s. to go to Harvard, so my friend was totally fixated on going to Harvard, too. He only applied to Ivies, and the only one that didn’t accept him was … Harvard. He ended up at Yale. But he was o.k. No three-piece suits. Though there was on guy in my class who carried a full-on adult sized brief case from his freshman year on.
Couldn’t disagree more. “Niggle” doesn’t have anywhere near the same objectionable optics that “niggardly” does. Their meanings also contribute to the disparity of their impacts - one denoting a negative personal characteristic, the other, simply a nagging obsession/concern.
This 56 y.o. Canuck has never heard anybody - whether in person, or any form of media - say “niggardly”, um, EVER, and I like to think I’m not the least bit sheltered, because of that.

Because this is the Dope, a jig is a subset of fixtures, where the cutting tool is guided by the jig. A drill press jig will have drill bushings for the drills to properly locate the hole.
