Stevens doesn’t give two shits about the ad. She just wants to assert a little power and regain some control over El Sayed after losing. Good on him for not being her dancing puppet.
Quite a few Jewish people do in fact give a shit about the ad. I understand that this is apparently unfathomable to you, but that’s because you’re an utterly shit person.
It’s a joke to suggest that Stevens endorsed MAGA because of a third party ad from a trolling nobody. She did it for some other reason.
Y’all are soft, Babs hasn’t called any of you a Nazi-lover!
Oh hey, it’s the guy who likes to defend Nazis from the charge of being trash human beings! Are you still a big Lindbergh fan?
YoU ReaLLy DoN’t ReAd FoR CoMpReheNsiOn dO yOU?
Maybe I need to put it in a meme?
Babs wants AES to lose. He’ll be positively gleeful. MAGA is ready for you, @Babale!
It ain’t gonna happen, by the way. AES is going to win comfortably.
I’m sure many Jewish people do. But that’s not why Stevens is throwing a tantrum.
Keep telling yourself that. If El Sayed significantly underperforms with Jewish voters, one of the most loyal Democratic voter bases I might add, will you consider that maybe he should have listened to what that community was saying? Or will you just declare that they’re all MAGA Islamophobes?
Endorsing MAGA is not the action someone takes if they are sincerely concerned about antisemitism.
The ones who endorse Rogers, like Haley Stevens, are indeed MAGA Islamophobes (and antisemites, for that matter…).
They are only going to go after the Eastern European Jews, not the civilized German ones.
Good riddance to a now-obvious grifter Haley Stevens from the Democratic party. She’ll fit right into MAGA.
No, as evidenced by the fact that he managed to avoid the fumble. He was smart enough to not feed the troll.
I think he handled it well, and evaded the transparent “when did you stop beating your wife” kind of question that anyone with two brain cells to rub together can see has no substance.
It’s unfortunate that not everyone has two brain cells to rub together.
Yes, there are plenty in MAGA whose support of Israel is so strong that they’ll ally with antisemites.
@DSeid suggests that Haley Stevens endorsed MAGA Rogers with his Nazi staffers based on principles of opposing antisemitism and supporting Israel (or something like that), and described the positions of people he knows as justification:
I don’t know how widespread this is, but this is some kind of strange variation of White fragility. It’s not remotely rational to shift from supporting Democrats to MAGA Republicans with Nazi staffers based on a third party ad from a trolling grifter. There’s some weird pathology at work here.
Whether or not some Jewish Democratic voters actually feel this way (and any that do are not remotely acting rationally), I still don’t think it’s at all reasonable to believe Stevens did this on principle rather than over sour grapes, grift, or some other illegitimate reasoning.
It’s only a “when did you stop beating your wife” question if he is indeed beating his wife. If he didn’t have an obvious hate boner for Israel, he would have easily been able to say that no, Israel is not responsible for increased costs for Michiganders, and yes, he does support the right of Israel to exist.
It’s unfortunate that no everyone has the two brain cells it takes to see that.
The war with Iran is partly responsible for increased costs. This Israeli government is partially to blame for our involvement in the war with Iran.
There are plenty whose support of Israel is so strong that they’ll ally with MAGA antisemites.
I’d say a stupid “liberal” idea of the day is defending Haley Stevens’ decision to endorse MAGA Mike Rogers with his Nazi staffers (or attempting to explain it as anything other sour grapes, grift, or some other illegitimate reasoning). Not surprised to see @Babale do this, but I am surprised by @DSeid. Even Chuck Schumer has been lambasting Stevens publicly.
