Stupid liberal idea of the day

Okay, so McKeon just… made it up.

Who the hell knows? Republican congressmen don’t exactly have the greatest track record of not making things up.

The same can be said of this administration.

If you mean that the Sec of Defense executed the president’s decision*, no I don’t think McKeon’s making that up. McKeon’s interpretation of that? That I think he’s making up.

(*As noted back in #1838)

And Uri Geller says he can bend metal with his mind.

“Hagel made the final call” means Hagel could have nixed the deal. That firmly places the onus on Hagel.

I guess we’ll find out in the coming days. The polling looks bad for this fiasco, so I’m sure the President’s political team is thinking of something now. Hopefully it won’t be “Blame it on someone else” like they usually do. I’d at least like some creativity in bullshit manufacturing.

“Hagel made the final call” means Hagel got on the phone and said “The President says “Do it.””

A Secretary can overrule the President? Really?

A remarkable physiology you have, **adaher **- there’s a channel straight from your ass to your fingers, completely bypassing your brain.

He’s a house republican, so I’m just going to assume he lied.

Again, objection! Same grounds.

I though adaher’s positions came from Sean Hannity. Not that it would make much difference in the actual outcome.

Do we have any proof adaher isn’t Sean Hannity? Has anybody ever seen them together?

That would explain his inability to spell McAuliffe - he’s never seen the name in print, only heard it spoken.

In fairness, adaher has on occasion showed (largely atrophied but existent) senses of shame and humor, which pretty well rules him out as Hannity.

Possibly. Or he chose to spin what he’d heard. Or he was confused.

Spin? That’s putting it kindly.
Twisting factual information to suit his version of reality seems to be his go-to strategy.

He’s just continuing in his battle to “unskew the polls”

Yeah, but reporting on it at least means that now you can’t defend the President if he does decide to blame it on Hagel. You’re already on record as saying it’s stupid.

The right may not be composed entirely of bigots, but those whom they elect are surely not without racial bias. To be fair, probably no one is utterly devoid of racist attitudes; even the liberals/progressives are vulnerable to prejudice of the same kind. But even a casual glance at history shows that the GOP has, in it’s pursuit of something called “true conservatism”, turned-in upon itself and now has what resembles a country club rather than a political party. The Democratic party has a much bigger tent and does not require strict adherence to party identity or a litmus test to prove it’s liberal authenticity. The term “liberal” has been smeared by Fox and others propaganda organizations and that word has become pejorative to many. Look-up the dictionary definition of liberal; all the similes are positive. The only thing conservatives conserve is their wealth, their time-honored values (like slavery), and their certainty that God favors the greedy. I don’t hate Republicans. But I can find no reason to respect their views or those of their party’s leaders.

The Democratic tent is bigger because it has to be. The Republican Party can win elections with conservatives plus a few moderates. Democrats need the liberals plus most of the moderates. So the two parties’ electoral strategies are geared towards those realities.

The Republicans can’t win Presidential elections with their current coalition.
