stupid mozilla

the computer I’m using (which is not mine) uses mozilla. When I try to post to this board it logs me out every time I hit submit, losing my post. I’ve lost 3 very long posts already. I can’t change anything on this computer because it’s not mine and it’s owners are very strict, is their anything I can do to be able to better access this site without IE, which I am more used to since it’s compatible with my email, bank account, and everything else I generally use the internet for?

If it is a Linux box, see if it has Galeon on it, or use Konqueror (the default file browser in KDE)

All three work fine for me, although Galeon has no associated email client KMail and Ximian Evolution both work fine (as does Mozillamail}

If it is a Windows machine, Opera could be the answer.

Write your posts in a text processor and paste into SDMB, then if it gets swallowed up, you still can repeat the paste/post action.

If you’re on Windows, then it’s not Mozilla that’s logging you out. I’ve never had to log in twice for anything.

Maybe check your cookie settings in Mozilla:
EDIT -> PREFERENCES -> PRIVACY AND SECURITY -> COOKIES

Using Mozilla 1.5 with cookies turned off…testing…testing

Well, that didn’t seem to be it…lemme clear my cookies first, then try again.

Cookies cleared…browser exited. Trying again…

Nope, it’s not cookies. I can’t think of what else (if anything) in Mozilla would log you out, though…

I got used to doing something like this with all my posts at some other boards. I would copy my text then preview. If there was a problem, I still had my original text with all code and smilies ready to paste again.

Mozilla under Windows. Linux server. No logouts. (Not many posts either, but that’s a different matter). Other ideas?
