What’s with all the really long stupid user names that have popped up in the last month. I’m not saying it’s the same person. I’m just wondering what’s possessed different people to come up with such universally stupid and long user names…
RepurposedNuclearNosecone has a nice ring to it. I agree though, some of these are just nonsensical. I think people are just rying to be witty, without realizing that nobody notices how witty your user name is after about 12 posts. I guess some people think this is akin to a chat room.
Incidentally, I’ve been doing a bit of housecleaning. When I see a thread in my area that’s started by a sock, I tend to remove the thread. So, folks, if you’re looking for a thread and can’t find it, I may have removed it.
What does oldscratch mean? I mean is it an old person who scratches? Or did old scratch think about a long ago particularly profound, nay, epiphanic sort of scratching session? Was it the sort of scratch which distills all the effort, toil, love and art of life? It sounds like a type of Bourbon to me. And why isn’t it capitalized? I propose a new law on the board. Only ten letters, no more, no less, and all names must be cleared by oldscratch. Can I change my stupid name? I wanna be like oldscratch.
Damn, hadn’t noticed your August registration date. figured you were part of the trend of long user names in the past couple days. You can all go back to ignoring me as usual. I will add that I’m often tempted to post right after Danielinthewolvesden just because his name is making the “Last Post” column longer than necessary. And RepurposedNuclearNosecone (which at 25 characters is as long as one is allowed to get) actually screws up the formatting of the thread itself.
