I know we have discussed odd road names and how they came about if known. My new favorite, a rather suggestive road name is from Ottawa County, Ohio. I can picture a conversation where I tell my address and get funny looks:
Lickert Harder Road.

There’s a little dirt road on the Long Beach Peninsula (Washington) called Busted Axle Lane.
There is a cross road up a major highway from where I live called Forni Rd. I always wanted there to be a caterer located on that road that included the name in their business.
I came across “Back to Sodom Road” in upstate NY.
In Louisville there is Penile Road. It’s named for the community named Penile. This includes Penile Baptist Church and Penile Cemetery. Apparently it’s not pronounced the way it looks.
Speaking of which, between Chuluota and Oveido in Florida lies Taintsville. Not named after the perineum, but for the same reason, because it tain’t Chuluota and it tain’t Oveido.
Unfortunately there isn’t a “Taintsville Road” that goes to it, but there is apparently one near the Wisconsin Dells according to Google Maps.
At university in Manchester in the UK, I lived on Hardon Grove. It literally made it hard to order a pizza or a taxi as they always thought you were taking the piss.
I literally grew up in a house on Easy St. And no it was not named for my youthful exuberance.
And i currently have a friend in another state that is living on Arabians Quirt. She always was a juicy gal.
There’s a few here:
There’s an Easy Street in Mountain View California.
There’s a Barking Dog Rd in the County I work for.
They where going to rename a lot of roads in the county I live due to duplicates. Subdivision where to have a theme. Ours was going to be birds. I was going to suggest Chicken Crossing RD. Or Loon Ln.
It never came about. Change one road name is quite a task (I know) changing a lot of them? No thanks.
When I was about 19 I was on a long road trip in the Australian outback and (as I recalled it later) came across Dead Bird Lead Creek. It lived on in my mind as one of the silliest names I’d ever heard. But over the decades I became slighly skeptical about my own memory.
Then, earlier this year, I was on another long road trip and came across none other than Dead Bird Lead Creek, exactly as I remembered.
I bet they have an impressive steeple.
mmm
There’s the ever-popular intersection of This Way and That Way in Lake Jackson, TX
There’s Butt Hollow Road in Salem, VA. There used to be a sign for it where I-81 passes over it, but I assume it kept being stolen. It now just has the state route number.
There was a relatively inoffensive Dyke Lane near my house growing up, but it must have offended someone, because it is was renamed to the definitely less offensive Dunn Lane now.
We have a ‘Stoner DR’. The signs are stolen all the time.
There’s a local guy who has a small welding shop in his garage. Its called Wet Spot Welding.
Its on Beaver Lane.
Speaking of beavers, there’s a sign on I-75 for Big Beaver road in SE Michigan: “Big Beaver: Exit 69”.
Ragged Ass Road, Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.
It has its own Wikipedia article:
I’ve walked it. The descriptions in the article are accurate.
